MS or H&R coilovers

oh, yes... H&Rs are 10x better than the stock suspension! only a little stiffer, but much more planted and responsive feeling.

first thing i did when i bought my MS3 was sell the stock wheels. the MX-5s actually have the same basic design just with narrower spokes... looks much better in my opinion.

edit: if you are interested in reading more about the H&Rs you can see my install/review thread.

thats good to know. I really just want to get rid of that floaty sensation at higher speeds.

If they made them in 18" Id have a set myself!

Ive been readin your thread for a while now, thanks!

Mine are also being shipped. Should get them on Friday and will take some measurements before they go on the car.

when i go through with it Im considering BCs or KW v2s.

a want the ability to adjust them.

BC's are garbage. I would never buy low rate coilovers. Esp ones that are known for mounting brackets breaking.

I dunno im hearing both bad and good from the BCs. a couple guys at the shop have them and they think they're fine. and I know a few here have them and also havent had any problems with them. Hebrewhamer tracks/auto-xs them too.

BC's aren't horrible, but they have questionable damping at best. Last shock dyno I saw for BC had almost no compression adjustability. But for the guy who just wants stance, they're probably OK. Quality remains a concern, but there have technically been no reported "hard" failures yet. The last guy who reported a problem failed to mention that he hit a concrete block in the middle of the road lol.

Compare that with KW or H&R that are assembled in Germany and built to TUV standards. There's a reason they come with a lifetime warranty...

welp... just pulled the trigger on a set of KW v2's (yippy)

now I have to wait.

I'll be sure to post my impressions as soon as I get them. Though I'll probabaly be running them initally in more of the "comfort" zone rather than stiff. But there will be a track day or 2 this summer so I'll let you know how they feel for that type of aplication as well.

:( SU just emailed me and told me that H&Rs are backordered and ETA is unknown. Crap

I spoke with Mark a few days ago and they are on backorder through the end of the month. If they're not in by the first week of May I might go with KW v1's or MS coilovers. I REALLY want the H&R's but I can't hold out too long for them. :(
