What have you done to your Mazda6 today?

I know there are tons of threads about this but everyone recommends different things which makes me think it doesn't really matter. I know NOTHING about tires. I have been pretty lucky with my car. My stock tires have only been rotated (Front to back) once and they are perfectly symetrical and the car drives straight. Thats after 22K miles. Anyway the tires can probably last me another 3-4K but they are getting pretty bald so better safe than sorry in the rains.

Recommendations for a good all around tire? In terms of price, performance, durability . . . I felt the stockers were pretty good tires.

As of yesterday, tinted windows, fixed rear bumper, new Potenza's, TMIC upgrade, Denso plugs, SU SRI, Auxmod, Sirius Sat radio, and I cleaned the hell out of it.

Still have test pipe and motor mount to install. Waiting on a AP deal to come up.

We have the Falken Ziex 912's on the P5. We've been very happy with them. Grippy, quiet, inexpensive, and they're wearing much better than the previous Ziex 512's did. I'd buy them again.

Two things on my punch list for the weekend:

- The rear end clunk is back, need to investigate that. It almost sounds like the exhaust is slapping on something, need to find out what.

- HID fog kit came in yesterday, hopefully getting my drivers side fog back in business.

Coyfish, for tires, do you want summers or all-seasons?

Online or local dealer? I need to change mine as well, so if you can point me in the right direction that'd be awesome.

WIX from Napa. It was originally 20 bucks but was on sell for 9. They didnt have it in stock but had it delivered to the store 4 hours later. Just ask for an 07 cx7. The filter is the exact same size.

Hankook Ventus V12 Evo K110's - Good and Quite cheap; Great wear but won't be sticky enough for any track days or autocross.

Well, my suggestion in general is to go on Tire Rack or some other large tire site and look at reviews, what they drive, and their driving style. They do a great job of rating tires against each other.

C&D did a test of 10 tires against the Michelin Pilot Sport 2's, considered to be one of the best performance tires and the next best tire was the Dunlop Direzza Star Spec.

I've also heard people go from the stock Potenza's to the RE760s as a better wearing, nearly as capable perf. tire.

Bottom line, there are so many options, it'll make your head spin.

Good call, if I don't catch this deal on the Yoko's then I'm going to get the V12's. Both great tires.

Yes you should!

Here are some pics from the ptp internals install.

This thread is just great.

Last night on my way home, I drove through the ******* grand canyon. There are so many damn potholes here the last couple weeks, and I managed to hit one of the biggest ones out there. On a highway exit ramp, going about 60. Scared the crap out of me it hit so hard. Stopped to fill up with gas and check for the damage and found a big bulge/bubble on my front right tire. It almost looked like my rim was dented in the same spot but not sure. I really hope not.

Anyway, I was gonna come on here to ask for advice and get some ideas for new tires, and find about 4 solid (cheap looking) recommendations waiting for me. I have to check out the links. I do have the stockers sitting in the basement, but they only have maybe 1/4 wear left. Also, I'm in Minnesota and while it is warming up I don't think I would quite call it spring yet so I would love to be able to wait a couple more weeks to put on the summer shoes.

On a lighter note, I got my grom audio Ipod adapter last Wed. and installed it that same night. Was able to reach up under and behind the radio without taking apart the center console. Took 5 mins. It sounds great and its awesome to finally have all my music available. Also, this last week I ordered a corksport SRI/TIP and just this morning ordered Jbarones SSP.

Got an oil change done, cleaned my air intake filter, and did a sea foam treatment. Tomorrow the summer tires go on.

Oh and i thought the tire discussion was funny. I'm looking for tires to put on my wife's TSX, and narrowed it down to the Hancook Ventus V12's, Bridgestone Potenza RE760's, and the Conti Sport Contact 3. Tough decision.

Curb rashed my passenger rear rim parallel parking in a spot . . . sigh. So pissed. Was the very 1st spot so it was hard to gauge how far to pull up before reversing in. Easier for me getting between 2 cars.

Washed my car. Pulled off my front bumper and started to fix my OCC hose that got disconnected from the intake manifold.

Painted my stock exhaust tips. Doing away with the maganflow tips and putting these back on. I did some customizing to them. :)
