Track Day MSP Build

haha. yea stock MSP brakes right now. Centric blank rotors with Carbotech XP10 front pads and Posiquiet rear pads. Only reason I run they Posi's at the track is to control the rear lockup.

Since I probably will only get one more weekend out of the front pads I'm going to order a MS6 rotor and Wilwood Superlite so I can get cracking on a new front setup. Because what I really need is another project!

Here's a video of a MS3 at the track this weekend. Myself and the silver Cayman just passed him:

Nelson Ledges is a crap track, BeaveRun, Pocono, New Jersey Motosports Park, Summit Point in West Virginia are track that could be considered.

Hey man he said track, not good track :) We did our 24 hour LeMons race at Nelson's. For a LeMons race, it was perfect. However I'd probably be hesitant to run my car (or any car worth more than $500) on it...

Hey Marlon, When is the first race for you this year?

We'll be @ Mid-Ohio, April 9-11, you coming out? It will be my first event, the wife ran @ VIR a couple of weeks ago, what a fun track.

True, he did say track........I have seen too many cars destroyed on that track, as they let too many novices out on track without any instructors in their cars.

Well the track pads are toast from the last event. I'll probably get one more set of MSP pads before I put the Wilwoods on. In the meantime, I'm sending the strut tubes out next week for machining. Its the last big step to getting the Konis finished. I'm hoping to sort out an easy solution to the rear top mounts. If I can get my hand on a spare OEM mount, I'll draw up an adjustable one to be machined.

As long as my sons tiger scouts dont plan anything. I'm there 100% then.
How did the wife do at VIR?[/QUOTE
She did well, her instructor, said she is very smooth, consistent and continually got faster during the day. By Sunday, she was pretty much on her own and was hitting all of her marks.

next stop, Mid-Ohio......

Sent a drawing off to the machine shop today to get some threaded sections made that will be welded to the strut tubes to hold the gland nuts in place. Hope to have pictures of some progress soon.

nice man, yeah pics when everything goes together for sure. I got my harness bar in I bought off a member here, going to run that with DOT approved Schroth Rallye Cross 4 point harness.

I also swapped over the cheap APC CF hood from the daily P5 to the MSP. It isn't the prettiest hood but perfect for adding in some much needed venting from under the hood.
