I disagree. Double stick tape (what is proper? I've used the best 3M has to offer) is not a 100% hold solution. Extreme temperatures compromise the hold and it does wear out over time. Plus it's subject to bumping since I live in the city and park on the street.You'd probably loose your car before the number plate if you use proper double sided tape.
Also I didnt mean to put the plate directly on the bumper. Just like it is now, but without drilling the bumper.
My friend has a hide a way one on his gti. It tucks under the car and pulls out and flips up. My only concern is if you scrape its sure to hit on the plate.
I was going to say, how would one go about removing such a thing without completely defeating the purpose of it in the first place?OK... that one I haven't tried
Thing is, if it's that strong, it'll pull paint off if the bracket ever does need to be removed.
I must be one lucky SOB. Have not had the required front plate on my RX-8, or my P5, or my Acura before that. So about 8 years. Dang!
