Trying to install & wondering if anyone has info on whether or not an 08 speed 3 has a tachometer output lead, if so where is it & what color? Any help is appreciated...it's a Sunpro tach also btw

oh great....
if you had the supporting mods to NEED a 5inch tach with shift-light, then you would have the knowledge to install it, imo. Another MS3 converted to rice.

I honestly didn't want it for my Speed3...I did want it for a SS Nova I had last year but couldn't justify spending $ on it...long story short my girlfriend bought it for me and just don't want to be a jerk and tell her I don't want it. I'll end up stuffing the tach hidden and only have the shift light visible...so I'd appreciate some help instead of assumptions that make asses out of just u

(drinks)you can use the fuel injecter wire at the ecu ( pinout 2BB or 2BC wires) do not cut them. 2BB is white/violet and 2BC is white, they are in the plug with the L on it with it facing you open end 2BB is 2nd row 2nd wire 2BC is 3rd row 2nd wire. this is the only way i have found to grab a tach/rpm wire. i have a pinout if you need more help just let me know. also the kids on this fourm always talk s*** to someone that is trying do something outside the box....do you thing dude

ummm, by saying there are required mods to justify a shift light on top of the ONLY definite spec being a manual transaxle vehicle is only making you look like a biiiiiiiggggg dumbass. 1 reason a shift light can be beneficial is saving you money by not having a blow (or seriously ragged out engine). But your mind is too small to think along the more advanced lines of logic so I don't expect you to truly understand.

Thanks for the help bigdawg. I'm actually gonna install the tach where it's visible and prolly even fiberglass a dash inclosure just to piss people like eg6 off lol. Might even wire the shift light on a multi switch to change what lights up and 1 choice be all interior lights, yes I have been known to think outside of the boxes outside box.

What? I don't understand what you tried to type, but having a silly 5 inch tach will not benefit you at all, unless you really do track your car often and have trouble shifting. BTW, not a kid, kids tend to do things like install tachs when there is already one present in the car. But maybe you really do track often. My bad if that's the case. Otherwise a more sensible option is the Cobb AP as it actually benefits the car and can be used as a shift light...easily uninstalled/removed, doesn't attract police, ricers, and doesn't send off red flags when dealing with a dealer (as you can take it out)
