dude in my league of racing.. usualy the guy with less is faster the the guy that spend thousands.. its about making one part work with another not just put together a bunch of random parts.. im not saying be cheap or "ghetto" just as the guy above me said research.. grab a how too book.. again comes a time when you building high hp cars that.. it stops being streetable.. just becus some one tells you its the best dosnt necesarly mean it works for your application..

Edwin I dont know how many times i have to tell you what you already know.. Bro I went to a Performance shop in Miami, TBK Performance, I told them i wanted to make my MSP better in all senses, i wanted to be faster, stronger and reliable. This asshead came up with a Project plan and a price for it.
He said he was going to build me a racing Protege with all necesary parts. Im not a damn mechanic like you, We all know you have infinite knowledge about these cars and lot more. You cannot ask others to know and learn what you are and have in your head. The point in here is that Suppously TBK was a good place but it wasnt, they just didnt put what they offerered and just kept my money. I mean Whats the problem about that with me, it wasnt my fault i was trying to put a business here in Spain and my car was back in Miami since i wasnt there and my dad didnt know s*** about what was going on with my car We both me and my car ended up getting scammed by this Performance wanna be shop..
TBK took 10 months to put my big turbo upgrade together while i was here working my behind hard so i wasnt able to be there to inspect what tbk was doing, I trusted them at the begining and though my car and money were in a good place but i was wrong, so please dont tell me im always on a hurry because is simple not true. When he gave me the car back i had 4 days left before leaving to spain again to work, i had it for 3 days and car was not running how it should, so my time ran out and had to come back to here in spain so i told dad to take the car back to tbk to fix the temperature and overheating issue cause car were not stopping blowing the Rad plastic tanks, once again i told TBK to get me the best Rad, thermo and fans to fix this issue, Well when my car gotted here in Spain and got it out of the COntainer i found out this ****** replaced the MSP rad for a regular Protege Rad and added some 10fans instead of a aluminum radiator and bigger fans.
once in here since this bastard scammed me with the rad, fans and thermostat and lot more stuff i told him to do and simply he didnt and kept the money, i bought the Corksport Aluminum Rad, 2 13s Slim Fans and the JDM Thermostat, added them my self in here and car ran good for 1 month. but kept overheating took the JDM thermostat out and it was stuck and in bad shape so i went to the Mazda dealer and they sold me a Thermostat brought from Japan as well but not aftermaket, car ran good for another month but kept getting hi temperatures that same week i raced my friends gallardo and car kept overheating so i decided to take it to this place in here and check what was going and it was the head gasket that was blown since car were in Miami, TBK knew it and didnt do s*** about it you get all my point Edwin
So Edwin please dont tell me all these s*** is my fault, that i dont read or do research and or that im cheap im not putting any excuses in here my only big mistake was trusting and giving my money to TBK a place where they suppouse to build me a race car good from the beginning.
what happened to the Wossner piston they both agreed even the manufacture in Germany that was a damn deffective piston. I really appreciate all your help and adviced im not in a rush and never have but this time im going to fix what is left to make this new build of mine better in all possible senses and way.
sorry if what i have written is not perfectly done, i just woke up and im tired ass hell from working 14 straight hours on yesterday.

Man the main problem here is not me putting all this parts together the problem was i paid a shop to do all these for me and they didnt do what they should, i cant be blame for it cause all i did is pay what TBK asked me to, like i said before they came up with a project that looked very nice with all necesary parts to make my slow msp into a race car, things were not done the way they should and all these s*** ended up like you and the rest know. Im not a mechanic but i have plenty of knowledge like most of you in here but when i cannot do something i rather to pay when i can someone with knowledge and right tools to do the job right you get my point...
My goal is 600whp and 30-35 PSI of boost and im almost there, im building this car for fun not to race or to track it.

You have built a huge building with no foundation. no matter how much you put into the building, it is going to the ground if you don't do anyting about the foundation. in other words, you have spent insane amounts of money towards the engine but have neglected other parts of the car, like stopping power. what good is 600whp if you can't get the car to stop ?
i've told you this(way back when you only had 300HP with the stock turbo) and i'll tell you now (that you have 500+HP) you have not, nor ever will, enjoy the car. in 5 years that you've had the car you have never enjoyed it. you never enjoyed any of the mods you did to it because before u got used to them, you kept adding parts.
yes, the car may fell nice, but you don't know why..
was it the suspension tokikos?
was it the gt-spec stuff?
was it the tires?
the list is endless, you rushed too much thru the upgrading process and left out somehting very important which is, "know your car"
yes, you can name every single part installed on your car in reverse alphabetical order...but you didn't enjoy every mod individually. you enjoyed it as a hole.
You need to stop. stop and rethink the project. before going towards 600WHP, why not make the car "RELIABLE" at 500?
all you doing is adding wood to the fire..pushing 600WHP is going to be awesome, but for how long? car is going to be so fast it will get boring quickly. and at the end, no matter how much money you spent on it you will not enjoy it.
at 600hp, other stuff will start to break, by that time, the parts you installed at the beginigng will be at the end of their cycle and it will be time to replace.
like i said, get the car running first(it has been standing still for more than 80% of it's life) get it running "RELIABLY", learn the car, enjoy the mods, and then ..maybe then...go for 600whp.

Well said. If you want 600HP get any one of shitloads of cars that you have in spain that we can't get.
600WHP in a FF platform is useless, except for bragging rights.
ok I well if the car runs fine for a while, then starts to overheat, its not the turbo causing that problem. To me it almost seems like you are creating a air pocket somewhere in the engine causing this heating problem. Im thinking around #1 piston, which is the one you blew the Wossener on? or which ever on that is. My guess just like Edwin said its that you have a blockage in a coolant passage. This could cause excevise cylinder temps, causing the piston to fail like that.
I noticed with that piston that there was excessive melting on the edges of the piston that to me, look like it happend before the ring land split. This could be from the fact that the cylinder wall expanded causing the piston to drag the wall.... I could be wrong.
I suggest you remove the engine or just the head and inspect the coolant passages. Even go the extra step like you should and have it acid diped to clean as much shitout of that block.....

IDK why... but you spent much more your time on this forum than me, 2 years ago IDK s*** about cars, I dont even know how to pop the hood or wtf is a sparkplug... Now I built my OWN motor, I swaped my OWN transmission, I tuned my OWN standalone PCM. I gathered all these knowlege in 2 years, by using mostly google.
You gotta learn and do it yourself and stop bein ****** by other dick shops. I dont trust any shop, and I never went to any shop neither. If I had no choice (doubt it will happen) to go to a shop Id keep an eye on the guy who works on my car.
Exactly, that's why I made friends with the owner of a performance shop. I do all the work on my car with him, so I can learn, and make sure I'm not getting screwed. Now I could probably install a standalone in a few hours.

the focus RS doesn't have the same number of cylenders or doors as the mz3... that was my point.
don't make it sound like I'm some genius or saint... if I was, I'd be an engineer doing some crazy top secret s*** for this country... I, just like everyone else started with nothing and what I did was did a LOT of searching and reading... I didn't go around like some tools just demanding information on a silver platter and crying when I didn't get it right away... I know what I know because I took my time... how come you can't do it? lots of people can force themselves to do the simple documenting and organizing... my mom isn't the brightest and she knew that, so she made effort to organize and document whatever difficult s*** she came across... and because of that she graduated college while a whole bunch of other weenies flunked out and she got a nice paying job... so if she can do that, why can't people like you?
your car was in that shop for 10 months and you didn't get suspicious? don't make excuses that you were busy with work and couldn't go see wtf was up with your car... just because they did all sorts of ghetto s*** doesn't make you guilt free of not paying attention to your car... hell, why even trust that place to begin with when you didn't know the crooks? the only places I trust are the places I know, and even then I have to be there to make sure they do something I want because it's very easy to forget the little things when you're just OCD about your own s***
they knew you were leaving the country which gave them even more reason to half ass some ghetto s*** together... had you go there at least 6 months earlier instead of waiting till the last minute, things might've been different
that's nice you got the radiator and all this s***, but you never solved the real cause... your cooling system was clogged up with s*** and that's why that thermostat failed, and that's why your engine still overheated with a new OEM thermostat... putting that "best" coolant piss you got from the parts store ****** it up or TBK already did and what you added made it worse
when you don't know what to get, what to do and just take it to some shop... they'll do whatever they want and **** your s*** up
you share some of the blame that your car is ****** up because you weren't meticulous enough to keep track of what was done... and each time your car broke, you weren't able to answer questions because you don't know half a damn thing about your own car... that's not an excuse, you're not considered a n00b anymore

The engine is already off the car, crankshaft is the only remaining part attached to the block everything else have been remove.
Im taking the block my self to the machine shop to see if i need to rebore the cylinders or just get it honed and get only the damaged piston or all four, ether way i have the option of getting them new from wossner. While in the machine shop ill ask them if they have any sort quemicals to clean the coolant passages in the block to remove the rust.
A fellow member recommended me a Racing Coolant its called EVANS NPG-R according to Evans website that coolant will lower the cylinders temperature and is designed to be used on racing and hi performance engines but either way Im not in a rush because iam still waiting for Richs Intake manifold and some other stuff i ordered..
Hopefully next year if everything goes right my next mod will be Big Brake Kit and some wheels with wider tires.

Sorry, but a BBK should have been the FIRST mod to your car. My P5 was crazy fast once I went forged, and I only had upgraded rotors and pads - scared the s*** outta myself more than once trying to haul down a 3000Lb car from 160 in a hurry. Next day, went looking for a BBK and it's still one of the best mods I have done.
What everyone says is true, you had no PLAN for your car, just ordered what you thought was the best of everything and slapped it on, hoping it would all work together. I'm not Protege genius, but I like to think im fairly knowledgeable. I only got there by doing research myself. Have you even read Edwin's FAQ? More info in there than you can shake a stick at!
You need to formulate a PLAN dude. Right now, your only goal is to have 600HP out of an engine that wasnt designed for 1/5th of that. How about just have 450HP, and have it be RELIABLE (relatively) and be able to drive it every day and enjoy it! Trust me, I've been down this road. It's no fun to have a sweet car and not be able to drive it. I haven't driven mine in over a year. You need to change your goal first of all, from being all about HP and focus n what kind of car do you want? If you want an all out race car, then do it! Strip the interior, put in a cage, and race it on the track. If you want a "street" car, then you're gonna need to change your plan drastically. Right now youre just trying to bolt a bunch of s*** on cause it's aftermarket. Do you even know which stock parts work better than aftermarket ones?
