how is that JDM thermostat s*** when I've been running this for 3 years now (with temps NEVER exceeding 212 but always averaging 185 on a stock MSP radiator during blistering summers), and a couple of other guys I know have been running this almost as long? How about it being race proven since it is installed in a red P5 race car that took part in the CCTCC touring car races as well as the grand am cup... a race car that was running a mere "thin core" ron davis "street" radiator instead of the triple pass everyone uses that had issues overheating at the pit... what did that thermostat do? stabilized temperatures while on track to no more than 210 degrees, and never past 212 in the pit! and that's a bunch of laps! so that JDM thermostat is a piece of s*** huh? oh that's right, you ran some "best" coolant that did some crazy s*** to your cooling system
good job for you paying big bucks to a bunch of people to help you put s*** in... why don't you TAKE YOUR TIME and research what to get first before going out and spending the money? people say you're always in such a rush and it is true, you want to know right away and you get mad when I tell you I'm busy... don't blame all those people solely on ripping you off because you didn't research, and was too A.D.D to document the details of what was done and to what specs... dude, you couldn't even tell me wtf spark plugs you were running... all you could do is tell me you were going to take pics of them! again, why do I care for the pics when simple specifics is all I need? dude in my league of racing.. usualy the guy with less is faster the the guy that spend thousands.. its about making one part work with another not just put together a bunch of random parts.. im not saying be cheap or "ghetto" just as the guy above me said research.. grab a how too book.. again comes a time when you building high hp cars that.. it stops being streetable.. just becus some one tells you its the best dosnt necesarly mean it works for your application..

You need to stop. stop and rethink the project. before going towards 600WHP, why not make the car "RELIABLE" at 500?
all you doing is adding wood to the fire..pushing 600WHP is going to be awesome, but for how long? car is going to be so fast it will get boring quickly. and at the end, no matter how much money you spent on it you will not enjoy it.
at 600hp, other stuff will start to break, by that time, the parts you installed at the beginigng will be at the end of their cycle and it will be time to replace.
like i said, get the car running first(it has been standing still for more than 80% of it's life) get it running "RELIABLY", learn the car, enjoy the mods, and then ..maybe then...go for 600whp.

Bro I went to a Performance shop in Miami, TBK Performance, I told them i wanted to make my MSP better in all senses, i wanted to be faster, stronger and reliable. This asshead came up with a Project plan and a price for it.
He said he was going to build me a racing Protege with all necesary parts. Im not a damn mechanic like you, We all know you have infinite knowledge about these cars and lot more. You cannot ask others to know and learn what you are and have in your head. The point in here is that Suppously TBK was a good place but it wasnt, they just didnt put what they offerered and just kept my money. I mean Whats the problem about that with me, it wasnt my fault i was trying to put a business here in Spain and my car was back in Miami since i wasnt there and my dad didnt know s*** about what was going on with my car We both me and my car ended up getting scammed by this Performance wanna be shop..
TBK took 10 months to put my big turbo upgrade together while i was here working my behind hard so i wasnt able to be there to inspect what tbk was doing, I trusted them at the begining and though my car and money were in a good place but i was wrong, so please dont tell me im always on a hurry because is simple not true. When he gave me the car back i had 4 days left before leaving to spain again to work, i had it for 3 days and car was not running how it should, so my time ran out and had to come back to here in spain so i told dad to take the car back to tbk to fix the temperature and overheating issue cause car were not stopping blowing the Rad plastic tanks, once again i told TBK to get me the best Rad, thermo and fans to fix this issue, Well when my car gotted here in Spain and got it out of the COntainer i found out this ****** replaced the MSP rad for a regular Protege Rad and added some 10fans instead of a aluminum radiator and bigger fans.
once in here since this bastard scammed me with the rad, fans and thermostat and lot more stuff i told him to do and simply he didnt and kept the money, i bought the Corksport Aluminum Rad, 2 13s Slim Fans and the JDM Thermostat, added them my self in here and car ran good for 1 month. but kept overheating took the JDM thermostat out and it was stuck and in bad shape so i went to the Mazda dealer and they sold me a Thermostat brought from Japan as well but not aftermaket, car ran good for another month but kept getting hi temperatures that same week i raced my friends gallardo and car kept overheating so i decided to take it to this place in here and check what was going and it was the head gasket that was blown since car were in Miami, TBK knew it and didnt do s*** about it you get all my point Edwin
So Edwin please dont tell me all these s*** is my fault, that i dont read or do research and or that im cheap im not putting any excuses in here my only big mistake was trusting and giving my money to TBK a place where they suppouse to build me a race car good from the beginning.
what happened to the Wossner piston they both agreed even the manufacture in Germany that was a damn deffective piston. I really appreciate all your help and adviced im not in a rush and never have but this time im going to fix what is left to make this new build of mine better in all possible senses and way.

You gotta learn and do it yourself and stop bein ****** by other dick shops. I dont trust any shop, and I never went to any shop neither. If I had no choice (doubt it will happen) to go to a shop Id keep an eye on the guy who works on my car.

ok I well if the car runs fine for a while, then starts to overheat, its not the turbo causing that problem. To me it almost seems like you are creating a air pocket somewhere in the engine causing this heating problem. Im thinking around #1 piston, which is the one you blew the Wossener on? or which ever on that is. My guess just like Edwin said its that you have a blockage in a coolant passage. This could cause excevise cylinder temps, causing the piston to fail like that.
I noticed with that piston that there was excessive melting on the edges of the piston that to me, look like it happend before the ring land split. This could be from the fact that the cylinder wall expanded causing the piston to drag the wall.... I could be wrong.
I suggest you remove the engine or just the head and inspect the coolant passages. Even go the extra step like you should and have it acid diped to clean as much shitout of that block.....
I could be wrong, just my 2 cents....
