Why don't you give people a chance to answer you with proper info in a reasonable amount of time (24-48 hours) and be grateful for their responses, instead of a cock about it? You've got guys in here who are trying to help you yet you're impatient and rude to anyone who questions your car and what happens with it. Just because someone carries the mod tag doesn't mean you need to be a jackass towards them.

Personally, I don't understand why you'd pay for new pistons and a rebuild unless you blew your motor. More money than brains? It just seems unnecessary to me, but if you're gonna spend the euros (or whatever they use in Spain), be my guest.

I had already enough with him, Evilmonkey on yesterday about same reason... but I'm tired of this guy making fun of my engine blowing. I haven't blown anything. only one of the piston failed and that's it, nothing didn't blow up .. So what's the point of coming here laughing about it..........



This is the reason i need 4 new pistons, cause since this one failed scratched the cylinder wall and now it needs to be rebore and the remaining pistons cant be used anymore, they were 0.20 over, now i need to jump to 0.40 over. 1

ok, i don't understand what's the big deal.
so the guy wants new pistons...he has his reasons and deep pockets to do so.
just because everyone else in here is broke as hell doesn't mean he can't do it.
i think it is pretty smart to re-do it all...one failed..who's to say the others won't fail again?
if you gonna do it, do it right!

miguel is pushing the limits of the FS-DE, now we know what these motors can take..he has been a guinea pig for alot of people, trying alot of different parts. yes, mistakes have been made...but for the benefit of everyone else..now we know what works and what doesnt.

impatient? well, i would be too..hell..if i had his car i would want to have it running ASAP...i would go as far as being in 50 different forums asking the same questions....i would want answers!

anyways, just leave the guy alone...he is my best friend and i know his temper...if you leave him alone..he will leave you alone.

That looks like there simply wasnt enough material in that piston between the valve land and the piston ring land.

Anyway, go back to the last page and read what I wrote you.

I hate to say Miguel but an annihilated piston and scored cylinder wall needing overbore is certainly depicted as a "blown motor".

Most of the guys here with a built protege tend to take the extra steps to keep things maintained. But whether you believe it or not the number one reason you are not breaking stuff is due to your TIRES gt35 or not. If I can break loose going into 4th with my stickier tires and a gt30 at full boost around 3700rpms you cant say you dont loose traction. A big turbo especially strapped to something that can rev a little higher will put you in the next gear at full boost almost instantly and spin street tires up to 4th gear. Add some drag radials and now your fast as **** but there is 300% more stress on everything.

^agreed, if it was running and now it don't, you blown'd it up. My engine is still ran after shedding all my bearings, I consider I blown'd it up.

I have to agree on the fact of that it doesn't matter what size turbo it is, s*** will still fail.

As for pistons, those german pistons sure bit the dust. lol Go with CP . I got the SU profile from them, but as for them having a .40bore, I highly doubt it. They should have a .30 bore on the rack, but from the look of that piston you will be cleaning up a bit of metal.

Woah. That piston is F'd up. So that company in spain recommended those pistons to you. You should have a good case against them. Take those fools to court and get ur money back. Sounds like everyone is recommending CP dude.

Wow, that piston is toast. Not good at all.

I definitely see more people pointing to CPs to fix your issue, so get your specs over to them and see what they can do for you.

Miguel, no offense man, but the you vs. the mods mentality isn't helping. No one is out to get you, screw with you, or single you out. I don't really see a point in being so defensive about everything. Mods have to answer for their actions to, whether or not you believe it.

Bro Whats going on in this thread, now you all are treating me like im mentally ill or what.. Im not tempered Daniel from where you got that idea ? you know better than lots of people here how people are mods are. but anyways Im not in a rush to fix the car, ive done everything as the professional told me to, I try to buy the best of the parts out there when i can afford it, I aint rich and you know it, Im detailing cars in here and i can tell you that im not getting rich out of it, I simply work my behind very hard and i dont spend unnecesary money, i save to spend my hard working money on things i love and like, but just after taking care of the primary responsabilities and family so......


Im trying to not give up on this protege Thang, and trying to take this car that nobody respects to another level, I really think im the only one that have taken a 3rd gen Protege FS engine to that amount of HP as a daily driving form with all the confort these cars have.... on this build ive added stuff i didnt have before to make it better, once again in this new setup i will have again things that i didnt had in the previous build that is going to make it better than before and i hope this time everything will run how it should from the first time, but you learn from every mistake you made in the past Im going to try to make sure to fix the weak spots and i dont mind waiting longer to get it back together but im sure this time it will run how you know i like it. Stop calling it a daily driver. It's a race car that you sometimes drive on the street. To make as much power as you have in a TRUE daily driver you'd have spent twice as much as you have. Losing traction in the first 4 gears is the opposite of a comfortable daily driver. Not to mention your car has been in the shop more than on the road.

Were all trying to give you advice here, slow down and heed it.

Stroke is too long as it is. I took mineto 8500 on the dyno and it drops off over 7K anyway.

You do know E85 will yield you LESS power unless you're running a full standalone, right?

8500??? what rods have you got in that thing? to do that kind of RPM safely, you're going to be wanting something light, and something LONG..... (check out what installshield2 had to go through to get his motor revving in that range).

Reason it drops off a cliff at 7k isn't the stroke, its a lack of ability to breathe up there (although fuel could be hte issue, if piston acceleration outruns the flame front over the first 30 odd degrees of the rotation)....bigger cams, better intake, better intake manifold, better exhaust manifold, and a fuel to support it, and it'll be happy breathing up there....but the piston acceleration would still be kind of frightening......

a little info i found online.... i personaly use arias my self in my race car (not mazda).. ive used je/srp cp wiseco.. in various other engines of diffrent makes and models some n/a /nos and turbo. i think you just had a premature engine failer looks like a valve kissed your piston.. i have yet to see a German piston power the fastest cars in the world. i think thats where you or your engine builder went wrong have you checked your tolarances on the motor piston to valve and valve to valve???

my opinion go with a new block.. bore out to .40 throw some arias 8.5-1 and pauter rods. do a new head i think i read your still useing a head you got from a tbk company? that failed with you... so scrap it put it on a shelf.. build a new head.. fresh start.. and i hope you reach your 35psi dream.. 500hp in its self in a fwd platform is hard to control on drag radials (done it many times).. i can imagine yours on 18s. think you should plan out your build and stop lisining from this person said this and another said this.. good luck..

I had Arias 8.5:1 Pistons and Pauter Rods but after 3 years I changed the Arias for Wossner and Kept my Pauter Rods. The Head i have Was a Brand New Fresh Head with Everything done except Camshafts by TBK Performance even tho i paid them to do so, but anyway Im adding to the this head better cams, Richs intake manifold and to the Engine Lightweight pulleys.

Im not sure yet what pistons, I believe ill go with CP custom since plenty of knowledgeable people here are recommending me to do so and to finish up round 3 i guess thats all i need.

About the Wossner Pistons I sent them back to Germany to the Manufacture to get inspected and they said it was the mechanics fault by not Gaping the Rings of the pistons propertly, After few days they sent me any Email with pics of their report of the pistons with the evidence of where and why it failed. Right After that i went to the shop i told my mechanic exactly what Wossner told me and showed them the email, As usual they didnt agreed with what Wossner said and right after the sent out my pistons to Belgium where they have their Engineer to get them inspected and try to really find out what was the cause of the failure.

Few Days later they called me up saying the piston didnt fail because of the ring gap, it failed cause its was a deffective piston, because where the Valve sits and where the ring groove is there is not enough material together to hold heat or some s*** like that they told me but since im not a mechanic or engineer i cannot argue about it and of course according to them that leaded the Piston head to get how it did.

But Both Wossner and My Mechanic just dont know that Im ******* taking both of them to court for the simple reason of one of them have to take care of this situation and expenses of putting this engine back how it should and pay for the head gasket, coolant, engine oil and filter, machine shop fees and labor they wont be is your fault, Oh wait is yours, no BS in here Someone needs to take the responsability of what happened.

For my luck my sister is a Lawyer here and she knows very good ones in our city that are willing to **** both or either of them up for what theyve done, so im not worry about it All i want is to have my car back at the road and this time a little better than before.

I dontdrag race, i dont race or track my ride is just for weekend addrenaline rush you know, when ever i get tired of it i have 2-3 people in here that are offering an incredible amount of money for it, or just ship it out to my Country where I can basically ask what ever amount of money i feel like it for it ... if i decide thats the case ill move to the other dream car of mine.
