Picked up an '10 s Grand Touring today...

Man it's been awhile since I've been around this forum! Probably not since I sold my P5 back in '04!


Just thought I'd drop in and say hey & say picked up a 2010 Sangria red MS6 S Grand touring today for the wifey up in Houston (great deal!) and spent 5 hrs drivin in back home.. (In the rain) This thing is is sweet. A Mazda with Torque?? Kinda cool


Up tomorrow, window tint.. Beyond that.. Hmm.. Not certain yet! What's the latest 'must haves' on these things

Anyway, Hey!

edit, wow, my Sig *is* old.

Most Mazdas have torque now. Even the 4 cylinders have some good torque down low. My MS3 defintely has some torque. Anyway congratulations. If it came in a 6 speed stick I'd buy one in a second.

I too prefer it woudl have been a 6speed, but alas, not an option... Eitherway, this car is Soooo much nicer than my wife's freakin Echo we're finally getting rid of (which was a 5spd, this is actually her 1st auto)


Anyway, went and got tint put on today.. and discovered TX changed it's tint laws a month ago.. :bangshead:

Ordered headlight protective film to keep them from gettin foggy over time and now I guess it's off to drivin the chit out of it.

Debating a set of wheels, but don't realy despise these 18s, so that might wait...
thinkin something along thee lines...

of course, since it's red.. maybe black w/ red strip would look good, and be different... Every other car we have has dark wheels already.

actually the DISI turbos may have *too much* torque, and that could be whats killing engines with lots o' mods.

as for the 09+ 6s, theres not a lot of aftermarket out there. I hope it picks up, but I haven't really seen much interest on the boards even. this car has definetly grown on me, but its still not the same as your old P5, RX-7 or even the last generation 6s.

I'll get some pictures up here in the next couple days... Gonna make a ~2,500mile road trip in it over the next week.


I can't really see much interest in aftermarket on these picking up. Maybe intake or exhaust, but that's probably about it. The target market isn't so much 'zoom-zoom' anymore for this one, and that's okay.. This is my wife's car afterall.

I was just wondering if there were any 'undocumented tricks' or anything that was a serious performance damper to be rid of. Not appearing that way I gather!

I'm planning to install it myself, but haven't done it before. I'll post up my review/what I learned when I get 'em.

Eh, it's a darker red.. and it's a giant 4 door anyway. Read an article the other day that the Mazda6 is in the top 10 'least often ticketed' vehicles.

I was really hopin for a Kona Blue, but wasn't one within 1,000 miles with teh options we wanted..

I test drove a black one like that a month or so ago. Nice car. Too bad it's an auto though, and no AWD.... otherwise I would have bought it then and there.

agreed on teh Manual...


but pretty much zero purpose for AWD down here in S Texas. The only time we even really get rain is during a hurricane...

Just got back from a T-giving road trip.. had teh car just over a week and it has 2,800 miles.

Only a couple complaints so far...

1) Dash backlighting SUCKS during the day. Was raining a lot so turned the headlights on, only to find out I can no longer see the freakin dash no matter how high up the lights are up.

2) Audio - CDs, vs FM vs Satellite levels are all way off. FM is loud, Satellite is in the middle, and CDs are really quiet. (non-tech Bose pkg)

3) The little sunglasses holder doesn't open like it should. pushing in the center doesn't deflect the plastic enough to trigger the release mechanism. Have to actually *BEND* the thing right under the latch to get it to release.. Will have teh dealer look into that I guess.

That's it.. Other than those couple nit-picky details, love the car!

Yeah the guage lighting works the same in the MS3. The light sensorcan get confused on overcast days and dim the dash lighting. So youneed to override it.

Nice looking 6, Great color, I get mine tinted this weekend I hope, then rims.
I also was looking for the Kona Blue but I ran into the same issue, just none around so I opted for the Ebony Black.
