I think for me personally, I've been so conditioned to never "slip" a clutch, that any maneuver that might normally "require" clutch slippage just bothers me. Like, for instance, to this day I still get nervous about starting off on steep hills... I'll use the parking brake whenever possible just so that there's very little clutch slippage. I just about drop the clutch right in at low rpm and go. I guess this could be considered a "good" habit... at least I know that all my clutches will always outlast me.
