Car just failed in the middle of the road

I drive a 2005 Mazda 3, and here's what happened, hope someone can help me out a little here because I am not familiar with car situations

couple days ago I accidentally left my trunk open the entire night and the next day when I try to start up my car, only the lights in my car turned on but I couldn't start up my car. So I had someone to jump my car and it worked. I drove a few blocks and then shut down and restart my car, everything worked fine.

This morning I tried to drive, it started normally but while I was on the road trying to make a turn, the car just suddenly failed, the engine sound went down and my car can only cruise a few feet until I pulled over. all the lights on the panel turned on, like the engine light (blinking) and battery light. I turned off the car and could still restart the car. now the car is sitting at my house and I don't know if I can still drive it or not.

If someone know what could have happened to the car please let me know, if it's a big problem then I should probably take it to the dealer to fix it.
much appreciated if someone could help

Let me say that you should count yourself lucky that you were able to get it started again after such a short post-jumpstart drive. If the battery was drained enough to require jumpstarting, it would normally need a couple of hours of continuous driving to get a sufficient charge from the alternator (assuming that the alternator isn't also at fault) or an overnight on a trickle charger. The best thing to do would be to take it in so that a mechanic can get the computer's error code to see what sensor(s) is/are reporting trouble. It might not be the battery at all, but the O2 sensor or Mass Air Flow sensor (total shots in the dark, BTW).

If you're not interested in taking it to a dealership, check AAA's website (www.aaa.com) for a list of AAA-approved mechanics near you.

Good luck! Let us know how if you have any more questions and/or how it turns out.
