I need Motor Mounts and suggestions on them.

:
2002 Yellow P5
Well I'm going to have to break down and replace them. From what I've felt at least 3 of them are torn and I'm guessing the 4th is too. This is my daily driver. It's got ALOT of miles. Probably turn 236k mid week.

What should I get? I do drive pretty aggressively. I'm tired of starting the car up and hearing it the exhaust rattle all over the place till it's warmed up. Trust me I know it's the motor mounts. I've looked at both onlinemazda and at Ken's but I'm really not sure what to get. I plan to probably put another 100k on this car (assuming the body and motor hold together.)

Thanks for everyone's help. I know there are tons of threads on motor mounts. I've read most all that I could absorb.

This depends. What's your preference on vibrations vs. performance? If the former - go with OEM mounts. The AWR's will shake your brains out. If it's performance, go AWR - they can't be beat :)

If go soild mount you will get a slight viberation... and with you driving the car that much I dont know if I would recommend it. I built mine, a lot like the sls one but a lot stonger... dont know if that helps you at all.

I drive alot. Usually 35-40,000 per year. Looking at probably 600-700 per week. Sure I drive "spirited" and it's a stick so I do run it out sometimes. But I'm not auto-x-ing or dragging it.

I'd like something with a little longevity without shaking the tar out of me (or the rust off of the car.)

I think you could get the AWR mounts in the 70 durometer and the vibrations would be minimal.

That's what I was thinking for the AWR ones if I go that way. Somthing has to be more "durable" at 70 versus 62

Sorry to threadjack, but does anyone know what duro the corksport front and rear inserts are comparable to? The vibes aren't a problem, but the rattles are driving me nuts. Anyone go from one to the other?

Is it bad to have 2 solid ones and then two that aren't? like 2 SLS and 2 AWR?

I have RR racing front inserts in the car & they barely add any noticeable vibes ONLY when stopped, in drive, with the AC running. Other than that, unnoticeable. I did acquire some corksport front inserts with a spare used front mount. They did seem to be higher durometer than the RR's but haven't had them on the car. I also have AWR inserts on each end. Very nice, no additional vibes. Seem same durometer as RR fronts - guessing 70 durometer. Rear mount is unfilled oem. I have corksport ones for that but again, seem to be 80 or 85 durometer compared to AWR or RR inserts and have never been on the car. Rear mount is still undamaged so not looking to fill it. Autotragic isn't as rough on the mounts.

Oof. Forgot they were torn. The front mount is easy, the sides are where the big money is. I see where you're coming from.

So all the time then...
No, only when all 3 at same time....stopped at a light, idling in gear & AC running. If AC off, no vibes. If not stopped, no vibes. Idling in park, no vibes. Idling in park with AC, no vibes.

i have AWR 70 duro mounts in the front, passenger, and drivers side. the rear is OEM, and the vibes arent that bad. you can deffinately feel it though. on the bright side though, theres absolutely NO engine movement and wheel hop is pretty much eliminated

I sent Ken/PTG an email. Although if I could pick up a 5 or a new jetta tdi sportwagen cheap.... I wish!
