Hey everybody, I was wanting to get a turbo inlet pipe but i'm a bit new to this whole thing a need just a little bit of help. They have different sizes and brands. The only mod i have engine-wise is a mazdaspeed CAI. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks :)

the pg tip is not the best fittment. but it came in a cobb MS3 turbo inlet box so i dont know what to say really. perhaps it was just me. i dont know.

came in a different box? lol sounds a bit weird, but what size do i need to get? I have the Mazdaspeed CAI so would it be 2.5" or 3" turbo inlet pipe that i would need?

you can always get a coupler to make it fit. size does not really matter that much. its more so it fits up micely with the turbo you have... which i would assume is stock.

but it sounds amazing. thats all you need to know.

i have a pg inlet pipe..its a wicked easy install..fit great with my custom sri.. theres some adjusting while installing it but it looks great.. ive installed 3 of the TIP's to date that have been made, PG's was the quickest, quality was top notch, and service was great.. its the best inlet out for the car IMO.

its more of personally preference which one u want.. once u make ur choice and receive the TIP if u have any questions post them or u can pm me.

I was thinking about getting the COBB tip because it's a little cheaper, but it doesn't say what size it is, 3" or 2.5, and I'm still not sure what size I need?

After installing ALL 3 inlets I recommend the protege garage pipe. First of all my intake temps are lower than they were with the CPE. I thought the silicone would be cooler but I guess I was wrong. Anyway unless you have the appropriate CPE inlet / intake combo or cobb intake / inlet combo then get the PG one. The "mouths" that connect the intake to the inlet is so big. They provide a metal coupler that really just fits very sloppily. It also made my intake a little longer which made it difficult to line up the bracket of the CAI that bolts to the frame.

The PG garage inlet is an easier install, bolts on to the stock mounting bracket (you will see when you install), and fits MUCH better to the intake. I have an injen CAI and the metal piping all the way to the turbo looks cool too. Not to mention the PG is the cheapest one out there.

cobb cheaper? pg tip is 100 bucks. i have it, install was a breeze. sounds awesome too

The Cobb piece will work with your intake and the stock turbo. They don't mention a size because it is only made in one size and intended to be a direct replacement of the original Mazda part.

yea sorry, just found the PG inlet haha. will this mate up with the stock turbo and mazdaspeed CAI?

yes it will, just let ken know the you have a stock turbo when u order it. u can even get it powdercoated :)..my advice would be to install the inlet then adjust the CAI to it, its really easy..just take ur time.

yea i will be buying the PG inlet (powdercoated Red :D) as soon as I found out when the insurance is due lol

My recommendation is the Cobb TIP. It works for both the MS3 and MS6.

The PG TIP works as well with both platforms. I am currently waiting for the PG TIP and SRI to come in. I know several people with the PG TIP, installation was a breeze and they enjoy them. In truth the TIP for our cars is not rocket science to engineer and design. Each version has it's differences what it all comes down to personal preference when making your decision. I hope you enjoy your part and make sure to update folks when you get it and install it.

i have a pg TIP and fitment and performance is great... Havent had any issues

if i was you.. i would save the $65 or w.e dollars and go with PG

Ok so I ordered it on Saturday and the order still hasn't been shipped or even processed. I sent them a e-mail just asking what the usual turn around time is so I can plan for a friend to come help me install it (I'm trying to teach him a few things about my car (hehe)) and still no reply. I called and nobody answered yesterday or today. Is this normal and I'm just being impatient? Let me know thanks.

sometimes ken is busy.. shoot him Captain KRM P5 a pm on here and he'll get back to you im sure.. depending if he has the inlets in stock, hes gotta get it powdercoated and then ship it to u.. id say 2 weeks out but thats just a guess..
