First of all, HUGE THANKS to Albert, Howard, Joel my God Parents and the man himself, Petz, for making this all happen! The extra hands and minds made a big difference.
Day 1: (10:00am-11:00pm) We originally were going to just pull my trans, and drop in the p5 trans. We got the ATX off pretty quickly but after installing the MTX flywheel, Petz remembered we needed a clutch alignment tool so we could align the clutch with the pilot bearing. It was only about 6pm so we went to Autozone, Kragen & Pep Boys but none of them even carried one. Petz knew Napa has them but they close super early so we were gonna have to wait til the next day. Well after talking to Bob, we thought we were going to have to swap the engine harness AND the interior harness. So we tore apart the p5 and took the harness but in the process, found out we didn't need the interior harness, just the engine harness so to make things easier, we just pulled my motor. By the time it was out, we called it quits.

No motor!
Day 2: (11:30am-3:30am) First thing, we went to Napa and got the clutch alignment tool. We then we back to the garage and had the trans bolted up to my motor, ready to go back in within an hour or so. Me and joel ran the new engine harness while Petz and Howard to care of the interior part. In the process, I decided to remove my cruise control seeing how its never worked. Joel removed it and I started cutting at the cable, Howard was installing the pedals at the same time and asked me what I was doing with the throttle cable. Yes, my dumbass was cutting away at the throttle cable instead of the cruise control cable. We then took the one from the p5 and all was good. Once we had the motor half way back in, Petz realized the rear motor mount bracket is different than the MTX one, so we tried our best to remove it w/o having to pull the motor back out but no luck, so we pulled the motor and swapped the bracket. Once the motor was back in, we started hooking everything back up and installed the shifter. All was good until the throttle body was staying slightly open for some reason. After finally figuring out, it was a loose rubber piece, we got everything bolted back in, ready to go. Then the moment of truth came, time to start it. Of course it didn't start. We couldn't figure out why and thought and tried for a few hours. Finally, we quit to get some sleep.
Petz, talking to Albert.
Me, exhausted and frustrated as ****
Dirty ass muffukkazz
Day 3: (2:00pm-10:00pm) After trying many solutions and still not getting the motor to start, we traced the wires and figured out the problem was something wasn't grounded. We jumped the starter and it made the motor start so we decided to bypass this ground that wasn't giving power to the starter, and install a push button start. After that was installed, the motor turned on fine but the driver side axle wasn't fitting correctly. There is a difference between the MTX and ATX proteges so we just grabbed the p5. All was well after. I took it for a spin and loved it, I just have to get comfortable w/ shifting.
I have a couple videos that are uploading, I should be posting them shortly.
The swap is done but there are a few things that need to be taken care of.
My e-brake light is on constantly for some reason so I have to pull the console to check the connection.
The ABS light is now on, so I have to remove the bulb since I don't have ABS.
The radi has to be blead.
The injectors need new o-rings cause one is leaking and giving me a ruff idol and CEL.
& for some reason the speedometer isn't working. Luckly I have my gps to tell me how fast I'm going. Anyone know why the speedo might not be working?
Other than those things, I'm very very happy
Petz said my car sounds and runs great, perfect for boost (2thumbs)
