Name those mods...

So here are the pics of my new (to me) mp5. It came with some things already done to it.

But the prob is the guy I bought it from knows nothing about this car, he had just bought it from his brother in-law earlier this year.

So I'm wondering what a few items are and if I have found everything.

In these pics you can see what I believe to be painted factory rims, cdm headlights, fiberglass grill painted with mazdaspeed badge, fiberglass eyelids painted, and jdm Sport 20 rear door decals.

I know this is a factory Mazda steering wheel and interior seats but I'm not sure what they are from, the stering wheel looks just like the mazdaspeeds but it has the Nardi logo on it.

I know he painted some interior pieces to include the passenger side vent and gauge cluster surround. But what about the gauge cluster overlay piece?

The steering wheel would be from an MP3. Looks like you have the DaveB rings too. The cluster backpiece just fits in there, don't know where it would come from though.. there are several places out there that have it. You also have Mazdaspeed seats from a 2003 MSP.

Her are a few more pics, I do know it has Tein s-tec springs on it as well.

In these pics I know of the blue velvet door panels, jdm Sport20 rear badge, mazdaspeed axle back exhaust, jdm tail lights, blue and black shorty antenna, and roof rack delete with plugs.

Under the hood I know of the Injen cai, painted valve cover, mazdaspeed oil and radiator caps, and a carbon fiber radiator air diffuser.

You will also notice the blue temp sensor in the upper radiator hose for an aftermarket gauge that was installed that I have already removed, along with the vac and oil temp gauges.


If you look hard enough you can see the turbo toy as well(wink)

Oh yea and there is an aftermarket gas pedal on there too, it had the whole set but I didn't like them so I took them off.

But the original rubber gas pedal had been removed to install this one. I'm trying to find an oem one to replace it with.

When you say the wheel is from an mp3 is it just a regular mp3 or the speed version? The speed version's I have seen don't have the Nardi badge on them??

The MP3 was just that.. an MP3. Yellow and blue, N/A, with the Nardi wheel. The Mazdaspeed Protege is a whole different car, and was the turbo version of itself, same wheel without the Nardi badge. There was no turbo version of MP3.

Are the three silver rings surrounding the gauges separate or together? If they are separate, they look like DaveB to me. If they are attached to the backpiece of the gauge cluster, I'd like to know where to get one. Sure looks like DaveB rings to me.

seems like you got some sort of coolant sensor...

looks also like someone made swicthes where your dimmer switch is

Thanks for the info about the mp3, I'll look into those.

And the rings are part of the whole piece painted that you can see in the pic.

I figured these were the canadian headlights, is there a way to tell if they are just painted or actual canadian?

Yea there is an aftermarket alarm installed and there is a switch for it there, I'm thinking there was another switch installed in the coin holder but wasn't there when I bought the car.

I have a three year old and one on the way which is why I bought the p5.

The eclipse has Scat rods, Weisco 8.3:1 pistons, Cleavite tri-metal bearings, ARP hardware, GSC 274 cams, fully ported head with 3 angle, Hahn racecraft front mount, Magnus intake mani, Garret gt35r, Tial 44 wastegate and 50 bov, Shep racing built trans with Quaife lsd, ACT 2600 with Fidanza flywheel, Tockico Illumina shocks with eibach pro-kit springs and a whole lot of little things.
