You and lowr3y should maybe use your head a little before running your mouths about things that you aren't even vested in.

Running our mouths huh? I dnt really see it as running our mouths... i think we are simply stating the facts... this is taking a LONG ******* time

To those who continue to try to derail this thread with useless comments:

If you don't have anything useful to say in this thread, then please don't comment. PERIOD! I'm tired of having to close this thread, and clean up unnecessary comments! Everyone who is in on buying this understands how long this is taking, and why.

For the Record....I wasn't bitching....I was poking fun at RIch.

I was actually in for buying one of these until I sold the Protege.

But Damn Rich.....Get these done already!

All caught up, and the color list in post 1579 is updated. I'll be getting a progress report from the welder this afternoon.

Ok, i'm going to update the thread with some good info. Rich and I have been in communication and I've decided to give it another go on the dyno! My msp is running (haha :) ) and ready for the new intake manifold. I fixed an exhaust leak, a bad ground and had the valves adjusted. We ran a vacuum test and couldn't find any leaks. So, this is hopefully a good sign of things to come.
I'm going ahead with the original plan to dyno the stock intake mani on 10psi and then 17psi. The same boost pressure will follow after Rich's intake manifold is installed. This way we can get accurate readings. All the testing will be done in one day on the same dyno.
September dyno session coming very soon!!

so the dyno is going to be done in september?

haha yup. Sorry, my wording is a little confusing I've had a long day. So just to clarify I will getting the car dyno tuned sometime in September. I will know more when I get back to florida.

Hey guys I have some mixed news.

Good news is that the non-EGR, non-coated manifolds will be ready by the end of this week!

Bad news is that the EGR blocks have a fatal mistake that was caught by the welder. He had picked them up from kelly at the machine shop in a single big box, so I hadn't seen the mistake personally. I had requested them to be exactly the same as the first 2, but they got messed up. :(

Problem is that the side hole got put too close to the bottom of the block, so if they had been welded on, there would have been no way to get a hose onto the side fitting (the hex points on the female fitting would have hit the plenum box). I already have more material ordered to re-do them, which will be here wednesday. I am going to push kelly real hard to try and have them done before the end of the weekend, that way when the welder is done with the non-egr manifolds, he can get right to it on the egr manifolds.

On a kinda neutral note, no deals from the egr hose place, but they will still be coming in at right around the quoted 25 dollar mark.

Lastly, the welder is pushing me VERY hard to ONLY do powdercoat. He is telling me that not only do anodized welds sometimes turn out a slightly different color than the metal, but the process can actually compromise the integrity of the weld. He is very concerned that vibration will cause the weld to fail over time if we anodize.

Since I have already offered anodized and most of you want it, I leave the choice to each one of you. I will be sending you all a PM to find out what you would rather do. We can all switch to powdercoat and have a piece of mind, or you can chance it and go with anodized.

I'll be continuing to post updates as soon as I get them.
