Man.This car is bad. :)

What I often discover is how easy it is to speed in a Civic Si or S2000 as opposed to the MS3. The Honda's lack of torque makes it feel as if you're not moving very fast. Where as in the MS3, the car feels faster than it really is, due to all the torque.

My impressions are:

MS3: "Wow, this thing feels fast! Oh wait a minute, I'm barely doing 60 mph."

S2000: "This thing doesn't feel very fast, but why are there police lights behind me? Goddamnit, how the hell am I doing 90 mph?!!

Not that I have ever gotten a ticket, but I constantly would find myself doing an extra 10-15 mph faster in my friend's S2000 as opposed to my MS3.

If the OP is under 18, he could have had his driver's license revoked for a non-moving violation if it was severe enough. A girl i know couldn't get her license until she was 17 instead of 16 b/c she stole a car when she was 15. She didn't get caught with the car, but she was ratted out by her "friends". So you don't have to have a ton of speeding tickets to have your license taken.

so OP,... why IS the man coming down on you?

going from an altima to one of these is not going to solve your police problem, no way.....it's not because the police look for them. actually they blend in very well with normal cars... most think it's a regular 3.

it's because it's hard not to keep your foot in it... this car's sweet spot is about 80-85 in 6th gear... that's it's 'happy zone'.... but johnny law isn't so happy with the 80mph... so i have to be very careful...

keep the altima.

hydrolock? damn, how deep of water do you guys try to ford with these things?

all of this seems kind of silly to me...

yea...they are even doing s*** to ppl who get caught drinking before they have their license at all. if they're only 14 and are caught drinking they can have their license suspended for X amount of time after they decide to take the driving test

So you're telling me that they are holding people accountable for their actions and doling out appropriate punishments?! How un-American.

i wasn't saying it was unfair, i was just adding another example

and a de-americanization process has been going on for a while now anyway

Tell me about it. An entire generation of whiny, entitled pussies. Nothing is ever anyone's fault anymore, its always the other guy. That's why we now have warning labels on coffee letting you know that it's a hot product.

lol your joking right a speed would smoke a altima stock for stock.

Motor Trend tested the 08 3.5 with a CVT at 14.8@96. I've seen similar times from many MS3's on this and other boards. Road and Track tested an 08 3.5 coupe with a 6 speed manual at 14.2@101.

PS: Bring on all the "we'd kill it from a roll!!11" responses.

You guys are spot on. There is way too much coddling of kids by parents from giving them everything they want to absolving them of responsibility. What happened to make your own way in the world and by extension of that making your parents proud?

@ the OP: Owning an MS3 or any car is a privilege not a right. Take care of it and it takes care of you.

It's like alcohol. Enjoy responsibly. (drinks)

Leave your judgments at home guys come on. You will love the speed 3. Its fast and nimble. It will never be a track monster but you can run low 13's without investing that much money. Definately faster than an altima 3.5 though

From a roll, in a driver's race, with mods, we could kill it... I mean c'mon...next to VTEC, there is no greater force in the universe than the MS3.

You're crazy from a roll or not a MS3 is much faster than the Altima. Where are you kids coming up with this s***? lol. None of this has anything to do with thinking the MS3 is the greatest force in the universe, etc. Just common sense. It almost seem like people are so afraid at being called a "fanboy" on this forum their sense of reality is warped lol. I mean who the hell cares if a car is faster its faster no reason to beat around the bush about it. Show me one test where a stock Nissan Altima goes faster than 14.0@103. There's plenty of cars faster than an MS3, the Nissan Altima is not one of them.

Apples to apples

Mazdaspeed3 - 14.0@ 103mph

Nissan Altima Coupe- 14.6@97mph

None of this should be a surprise as the MS3 has a better power to weight ratio and a lot more Torque.

I hydrolocked here in Central Florida and it did not take driving through a river to do it. I was driving at night and went through a puddle (Couldn't tell how deep because it wasn’t crystal clear) and next thing I know I'm screwed. Luckily I got it covered under warranty, long story... I now have a Cobb SRI and had not noticed decease in power whatsoever.

P.S. A lot of you sound like a bunch of judgmental assholes.
