bov comment

I will do a search as I know there are like 17000 topics on such, but I was just discussing with a friend how I might look into either a new BPV or BOV, and his comment was as follows:

"bov won't work because the MAF is before the bypass valve...the air has already been metered and if you put on a bov, the car will stutter when you get off the gas"

m'eh?

Your friend is correct. My understanding is that there are problems with purely blow off type valves unless tuned. Someone back me up on this.

I think what ur friend was trying to tell you was you should recirculate you bov/bpv back into ur intake like it is set up stock. Mine isn't recirculated though and I don't have any noticable issues

your friend is right.having a blow off valve can throw a cel and create backfiring.... i would stick with either a bpv or a hybrid like the turboxs/turbosmart.
i have the turboxs hybrid and it works great. works like a bpv and gives you the sounds of a blow off valve. turbosmart is a 3 in 1 (bov, bpv or hybrid) but its kinda expensive.. you also have a bunch of choices for bpv's that make a few different sounds...in the end anything will hold boost better than that crappy stock one you have. most people i talk to have the forge bpv... very reliable bpv which holds boost very well...and sounds like swords clashing or like mario getting coins in smb lol

... are you stalking me? (boom05) also, ken's got the description as a BOV kit but the youtube video says BPV. idk. i call it a bov. I JUST WANT TO BE COOL!!! *cry*

A simple search turned up that info. Anyways, I think it has a recirc output.

I think it's kinda like calling a copy machine a Xerox. We're all used to the term BOV.

lol, just playing. yeah, i've got it set up to recirc and no stuttering issues whatsoever. idk.

random question,,, can a TRZ Poly dogbone Rear Mount be installed without jacking/lifting your car from the ground?.?. there might be barely enough space under there.... right??? haha.... because I want to install the item myself, but I don't have a jack.

I went on a mod shopping spree last night, TRZ rear mount, Forge BPV (sonic FTW!), and rally armor mudflaps. I am going to avoid my credit card bill for as long as possible, lol.

thx

i would not deem that safe. every time i've seen that part installed there is always a jack being used.
