Cobb AP Discussion Thread

no it doesn't, you have to use parallels, vm ware, or boot camp. just need someway to have windows on it.

So I was approached by this guy i know who works for a local shop here that they wanted to borrow my car for a day. I asked him for what and he says they want to use my car as a test car for tuning with the cobb AP. So I dropped off the car and get a call at the end of the day that it's ready. I was excited to find out how the car feels. On the dyno it made 243 HP and 253 TQ. The car now pulls through every gear, 3rd pulls super hard at 4k and then again at 5k, same thing for 4th gear. The guy said he made a conservative map and didn't want to push it too hard because I only have a Test Pipe. If you guys want I can upload the map he wrote up for me and maybe you guys can give me some input on what you think. Once i get my Catless DP in i'm going to take it back to them and see what kind of power i can make. His son currently has a Speed 3 with just intake and turbo back exhaust and he was able to get 297 WHP from it.

Very nice. I cant wait to see how my car does and sounds with the 3" corksport turbo back :)

I'm still waiting for Cobb to release some other maps besides the vanilla S1 and S2 maps. I'd like to see some intake options, TIP options, and, as before, those with TMIC/FMICs as well.

They probably never will, they'd rather us pay the $175 for the etune.

Can't say I blame them. It's probably worth it as well.

There will be a stage 2 93 with cpe nano and turbo inlet hose. Christian is still beta testing various maps for different mods. Mine being as described. Testing is at a halt for the time being.

I wouldn't expect them to release those auxiliary maps until they get the FFS for the MS6 figured out.

Here's the map from my tune. I dont think he adjusted the throttle closing at the end of the rpm range cause it felt like power was dropping towards the end. Can someone take a look at it and let me know.

I've noticed over the last two days driving with the S2 93 v101 map that I'm starting to get some hesitation in 3rd and 4th at half throttle or more. I've watched knock on the DH and seen it spike up to 5-6 when this occurs. I may go back to an older map, since I didn't seem to have this problem before.

Okay...couple issues I've run into. I downloaded the Stage 2+ map from Cobb's website without a problem. Updated my AP to the latest firmware, no problem. Now, I can't get the map to load onto my AP. The error that pops up says that I cannot copy a "USDM 2006-2007 Mazdaspeed6 map (MAZD_US_BASE_06) to a USDM 2006-2007 Mazdaspeed6 (Fed.) Accessport (MAZD_US_MS6_06)

How do I get around this?

And how do I update my dongle?

i just logged today and i just wanted to get insight on it it was a 3rd to 4th gear pull, my knock seems ok and i drove the car for 170 miles this week and im a little worried about my stft and ltft.

hmm seems like u downloaded the wrong map what version ecu do u have cali or fed???.. if u have a federal ecu u cant download a cali map and vis versa..

I'm guessing the way I figure that is to connect it to my car. But, on the AP it says Mazdaspeed6 (Fed.) So....yeah.

The 1.01 maps from Cobb eliminated the Fed/Cali designation between maps.

Driving home from work tonight, I'm still getting knock/fuel cut through mid throttle in 3rd, 4th, and 5th. I'm getting really sick of this feeling that the car has, and it worries me to some extent.
