Engine swap Question Help me guys!!!

Ok I am putting a 2006 2.3 ford engine in a 2004 mazda 3. ok that part is easy. My question is I have to use the mazda oil pan on the ford engine do to the ac pump bolts on it. And the ford bolts on the side.The pan fits great but it just looks like there is a lot of space gone from it ( do to the cut out for the ac compressor ) will they be a oiling problem ? on the mazda engine their is a 2 wire something on the cam that sets right on top of the cut out area of the oil pan. if that makes any Sense. And the ford engine don't have any thing like that. So is what ever that is on the head right next to the cam have any thing to do with the cutt out of the pan? or will i be ok useing the mazda pan on the ford engine? The first 2 pics are of the mazda engine. What does that do? The ford does not have that .The third pic is the ford engine oil pan. And the last pic is the mazda oil pan, Thats the pan I have to use. Because the AC commpressor bolts there.. The AC lines are too short to mount it on the side.what do you guys think? thanks for the input

ford engine doesn't have variable vlave timing, balance shaft, and some other mazda characteristics, i've only dissasembled one for 2.3 and it was a while ago so there are many things i am forgetting.

whats the reason for the swap if you don't mind me asking

I bought the mazda 3 with a hole in the engine. And found the ford engine/tranny for 500.00 with 29k on it. So need less to say that beat the 1300.00 price I was finding on the mazda engine. Thanks for the info

forgive me if this will bother anyone, but im having trouble posting my own stuff. i guess you need permission? idk. anyways i went to this post cause it was about engines and i need some help. i just picked up a 1993 Mazda protege DX 250000 miles on it, yet the body has like 2 surface rust spots. So i was thinking ill simply just drop a new engine in it and ill have a new car. I am obviously going to hook it up also. So i was wondering..sense im not familiar with a Mazda protege. What engine should i get with a lot of horsepower and torque. Im looking at this website http://www.jdmracingmotors.com/ for an engine. i just dont really know anything about a mazda protege, and its 5-speed if that helps with information. Also can anyone point me in the right derection to find good parts like body kits headlights, taillights etc. for a 93 protege, cause ive looked everywhere on the web and cant find s***. and yes im new to the website. haha

look around here... you'll find deals on parts, accessories and information about the best kind of info. You don't really need to ask but just browse, it could be faster than waiting for a *good* reply

do you know what kind of engine it is? or are you going to swap it for a different one?

yeah, well i never even took the time to look at the engine. I know its the stock engine that comes with a 93 Mazda protege DX which is a 1.8l engine and has 103HP so yes im gonna do a swap, but like i said i don't know anything about this car so im learning, im a Honda guy, but everyone has Honda so i decided to get a Mazda haha, and i love the car already, just want more horsepower and torque. I dont know what engine would fit in with out doing a s*** load of mods to just get it in. Any help.

i still yet to find a good website with body kits and s*** that actually have my parts for my car.

Well I got the engine in and done it sounds great. But this focus engine seems to and more power than the mazda engine did? Has any one else made this swap? O yea by the way that was a 06 engine.
