is it just me or major design flaw?

ok so here's the deal.. I'm not sure if this is just me and all my prev cars I used to drive were with low seating position but...

when I drive for a while my right knee starts to hurt. It causes discomfort and s***. I dont know why but I noticed for some reason I press my leg all the way to the central console.. especially while cornering.

not sure what to do but this s*** started to drive me crazy

lucky you. gives me hope though lol
even with relaxed driving I still keep letting my leg resting and kinda lying on the console.. I think if I would sit higher that would help.. but ohh well

Just wondering if regular 3 has same issue.

ha.. I did. I'm usually very picky about seats/seating position and ability to have no blind spots etc. But I cant go higher. Maybe just a bit..
right now I found best setup except that 'knee' issue.

I'm 144 by 5.9.. legs are not that long lol

I had that problem right at first, but after I found a good spot for my seat it was fine. My problem is that I'm so short I have to be pretty close to the wheel.

Weird. I'm 160 by 5.10 and never had this problem. I guess you just gotta find that sweet spot.

I would not label it as a design flaw, it is highly dependent on the type of driver build and seat settings.

I had the same problem though and could not make it go away with seat settings. I found that with about an inch of padding on the seat the problem completely disappeared. I think the side seat bolster was hitting a nerve or something.

Went to autozone and bought a seat cover, but only used the seat part, not the back. Next I cut three pieces of some good foam rubber that get hidden under the seat cover. Of course you lose some looks, but like you the problem was driving me nuts, in particular on long drives.

I have this issue too, it has started to drive me crazy. My knee is starting to bruise. I am 5'11 and I've tried putting the sit all the way back. But I don't like how the clutch feels. I feel as I have less steering control and I have to put effort to kicking the clutch and pressing the brake all the way down. I've also tried pumping the see up, but any level above the lowest position I feel uncomfortable and distracts me from concentrating on the road. I can't find the right position to keep my knee from hitting the center counsil.

That's not a bad idea, and it's not like it's permanent.

It helped the knee versus console in my situation, but more importantly was fixing the right leg pain caused by the bolster. Maybe the bolster thing was making the knee versus console more noticeable..I don't know.

the thing is that you should adjust your seats to have proper seating position.
and by proper I mean in relation to steering wheel, shifter and pedals..
if you want gansta look driving with two fingers then just go and kill yourself.

I setup everything perfectly. Just that thing left which bothers me. I was thinking maybe putting some soft snap on piece of whatever on the console where the knee goes. Not sure what yet but keep thinking about this..

I'm 6' and I could use some more legroom. If the wheel telescoped a touch more I wouldn't have to "Italian drive" my car as much. I like to be reasonably close to the wheel (a legacy of driving non-power steering equipped sporting cars in my youth) but that makes my knees a touch too far up for my liking. I'd not characterise it as a "design flaw" it's just that the wheel, seat pedal triangle was built around someone a touch shorter-arsed than me. Being a Japanese car, in the main aimed at women buyers, I'm not too surprised.

I've adapted myself to it, as time moved on.
