man i still really want these.. im running 17x8s +38 right now and want a wider stance.. these would be perfect i think.. im not sure if it would push it too much or not though.. a lot of money to throw out and not have them fit.. s***

up to him. im only ready to move forward with the test fit if he is really serious. not worth mounting a completely cherry unmounted wheel and risking any damage if he is just curious.

props for the mazda community stepping up to help a brother out tho!

thanks a lot bander! ******* love the car still

they would only work on certain setups tho so it would be hard to tell... i really just want to see how far they stick out past the fenders and how close they are to the struts and i should be able to figure it out.. im pretty confident they would work beautifully

but... that being said, i need to get the car running before buying new rims.. i have black Work rims just layin around here as it is.. i dont need another set QUITE yet.

the car will be done in the next couple months or so.. see if you still got em :)

If they had been 8" i would have picked them up LONG ago... no way in hell you are getting that 9" in the MSP fender.

dude dont be so sure they wouldnt fit. ive run 8.5s on my yellow car no problem and have had room to spare.

i am currently running 17x8s +38 offset and have room to the strut and fender
AND have not even rolled the fenders on the orange car. if you think of it, a slightly higher offset will bring it slightly closer to the strut and add half an inch wheel width which should make it as tight as she will go. the other half inch will be sticking out more from the current setup and i have that much room to spare (once pulled in from the higher offset)

im pretty sure i could get it to work with a little playing around

everyone on this forum is so stuck on a rulebook on what you can and cant do... learn to explore and push the limits people

I'm interested as well. 17x8's may be in my future

EDIT: Send bandar and me a PM. No need to threadjack.

I only said they wont fit because im rubbing with a full load, and i have 17x7's on a 40 offset. Fendars not rolled, but still. Im thinking if i tried to add 2 inches to that... and wrap them in rubber, oh god, i can already hear it grinding away.

Well, I'd assume your running 215x45x17 tires or are you running 235x45x17 tires on 17"x8" rims ?

Anything is possible now days with proper adj. of course :)

a lot of wheel & tire can fit depending on how you set it up. with adjustable suspension and proper tire selection, you can fit significantly more than one might think.

17x8 +38 with a little clearance between the fender and strut means you will be much closer to the strut on the inside and definitely poking on the outside. if you run a stretched "flush" tire, say a 225/40, you roll the fenders flat, and maybe do a slight pull/flare, you will probably be able to fit without rubbing.

best bet is to find a wheel/tire shop that has a 17x9 +45 that you can fit to YOUR setup. having someone test fit it for you might not give you as good of an idea...

but yeah - from what i can tell there aren't a lot of msp's running aggressive wheel and tire fitments, so if a msp guy ends up getting and fitting these - you will definitely be the pioneer...
