Problem with front end noise

Okay so I finally got my car yesterday. Its a '06 MS6 GT and when I started to drive it home it feels good and runs strong.

When I pulled in my driveway I noticed a funny noise coming from the front end. It sounds faintly like squeaky bad shocks or something that is metal on metal, but I pushed down on the fenders and heard nothing. so I think the shocks are fine.

When I turn the steering wheel to the right I hear the noise, when I shift gears 1st to 2nd I sometimes hear the noise. Do not hear it when I push the clutch in or anything.

Any suggestions as to what might be wrong?

I'm planning on taking it to the dealership here soon.. I laid under the car yesterday and had my gf turn the wheel back and forth and it would make the noise when the wheel was turned. Could be the pulleys but I didn't think that would have anything to do with when the wheels turn..

Your power steering pump runs off of a pulley. When you turn the steering wheel at a stop and really slow speed, you're increasing the load on that pump because there is more resistance on the tires turning when you're stopped.

I'm going to say it's either a squeaky pulley or a wearing belt. You should have both checked to be certain.

Had a similar problem and what ended up fixing it was having the steering column lubed with a new "super grease". Only thing is after having it done my steering wheel is not properly aligned so it tilts slightly to the right while I am driving in a straight line (only thing I can come up with is the wheels were not perfectly straight when the steering wheel was reinstalled).

Just an update:

Took my car to the dealership and they said yeah its the lower control arm. so they "fix" it. Drive it home and its fine, drive it around town the next day and its still fine. Wake up yesterday to come to work and there it is again. Its making the same noise and doing it just as much as it did before they looked at it. So now I've gotta call them back to bring it back down there to have them see whats wrong again.. Damn I am pissed..
