this is so weird, i showed robin and my mom my rusting doors last night! i absolutly hate rust, it's the worst...i'm wondering if it's worth it to find two rust free doors, or just call it quits....i wanted to keep this car on the road till next spring, get a new DD and trun this into a track car/hobby...build the tranny and engine etc...but if i have to chase the rust around the car, well i don't know now....i'll end up with the bubbles on the rear quater........i hate rust!

Doors shouldn't be too hard to find in the Souf.

cause you can still then resell your rust bubble doors

Yes, it does suck. I'm going to keeping a watchful eye on it.

If you are making it a track car...lose the doors altogether, weight savings. How bad is the rust on the doors? If it isn't too bad, I'd wait and use the money for track gear.

my mileage has been really crappy lately.

i replaced the plugs... cleaned the air filter... still crappy

so... my mileage on the last tank was 25.61 mpg.

lame.


this tank... i got 29.01 mpg.

same gas station... same gas...

only thing i did different in between...

during my audio install... i cleaned the battery terminals. this also meant i reset the ecu.

awesome!

3.4 mpg better, just by cleaning the battery terminals and resetting the ecu!

i got only 278 miles on my last tank.....

i just filled her belly with 93 and have already put 160 miles on it and havn't hit the midpoint of fuel yet.....curious to see how this goes

Well, it's gonna SUUUCK after the MP3 ECU goes in.

It's crazy how heavy the gas pedal gets after new mods are installed!

You're telling me. I'm going to be boosting soon. Boost + 93 octane = negative balance in the bank.

but, from what i've been told, you'll see better mileage being boosted, so, that could assist in teh offset

Probably better off keeping the P5 as a DD and finding a better platform for a "track car/hobby..." Something with better engine swap possibilities, RWD, etc...
