SU TMIC Installed.

Well im not driving my car right now thankfully. Its pretty stranded regardless. Was installing my CPE inlet and it doesn't fit very well with my injen CAI. Has this connector piece that basically elongates the intake which makes aligning the bracket that bolts onto the frame of the car impossible. Instead of getting creative im just selling my intake and getting a cobb sri / inlet combo. What a PITA.

Anyway mark said he should be seeing the new inlets by the end of this month . . .

Yea, and Mark also told me that he would be getting my new TMIC to me over a month ago. I'm losing my faith in SU very quickly.

i looked back at my e-mail to marc...it was on 4/20 when i showed him the problems with my dented intercooler and how the rear tube doesn't fit...so its been almost 3 months since...idk what to do..its either i wait....or get the cobb ap?...idk what to do anymore.

I recently installed the cobb fmic in my ms3 and no crashbar cutting was necessary. Not bad at all overall. Even fits ok with my MSCAI. Only slightly interferes with the splash shield, so I just pushed the mscai over a tad bit.

*edit - I see you have a ms6, sorry maybe it's different.

yes i agree crossbow. i always call. i tried e-mailing cause i thought i was getting too annoying with questions. i got a reply from them in less than an hour..it said to call them lol.

Installed this four days ago. After speaking with mark on the phone, he assured me that the SU team went to all necessary lengths to get the fitment correct. This piece dropped right into place! The hoses were not horrible, and once clamped, the tmic sat on the stock bolts; they needed to be bolted, but all worked with no modification. Except the stock nuts didn't fit!! Su, send 3 12mm nuts with no attached washers!! I also never received tshirt... As for performance, this piece adds easily 20 horses. Butt dyno really feels it. 2nd gear chirps a lot. Very fast! Third gear torques like a beast too. Easily shaves half-second off 0-60. Mirror polish looks blingtastic, great show at meets and on forums. Get it!

So are you saying they have the revised intercoolers in stock now??

I have been waiting for my ETS intercooler for 8 weeks now and would get the SU if it fits right and does not have the reported problems.

Could somebody who has the revised intercooler post pics of the fitment?

Well when I spoke to mark he said he could reweld the brackets into the correct position. I just said I would rather wait for the new core. I assume abilor got the old one maybe with rewelded brackets.

but thats the brackets..nothing about the rear pipe/hose that most of the intercoolers are having problems with...my brackets are fine..(knock on wood lol)

also for the people who have the su intercooler..i have water stains on the front of my intercooler..looks crappy..any way to bring back the shine...not like it matters much cause i am returning this one but i would like to keep up with the next one!

I had no idea mine were broken until i got real close and saw the little hairline crack. 2 of the 3 are broken.

well....i got one of the 2 thats completely broken off in the front...and the rear one has a small hair line crack in it...now im pissed...im taking pictures tomorrow morning before work...uploading them on my computer at work...and i think its about time su does something for me being they gave me a dented tmic in the first place

more and more I look at these SU tmic threads the more and more Im not gonna get one. Im hoping that fmic from PG pans out,but worst comes to worst think Ill go the ETS route. who is making the intercoolers from **********? rookie welder school students?....sometimes I wonder how much time and quality control someof this stuff goes through..Make a good product for a good price and youll be golden with tuner community.
