Turbosmart BOV & ITV22 review

:
2007 Black MS6GT
I had the opportunity, during my compressor surge problem, to switch out my Turbosmart Dual Port, stock BPV, and a Forge BPV. Also I tested out the TSDPBOV in full recirc as well. As I guessed since the begining, the Dual Port function of the Turbosmart, is by far the best performing, sounding, flowing, and boost spike preventative that money can buy. after 12k miles with the Dual Port in 50/50 mode, i have not once seen a CEL. spiked 18 held 15.

stock was pathetic and leaks at 3500 spike 17 hold 14

forge gave terrible shifts in between (which i guess is becuase i didnt restart the ECU) but it also sounds horrible IMO sorry forge peoples. spike 21 hold 15

recirc on the Turbosmart, was too quiet, and i feel that there are certain times while driving around town or in slower traffic where a recirculation just does not help at all, either it be because someone in front of you brakes too hard or you come up on a turn too suddenly, the removal of foot from accelerator should blowoff and immediatly shift down, instead of reusing it to connect to an upshift. it just seems that the TS Dual Port knows which is which, and sends that little extra air out (because it is still bypassing, just now with less pressure) spiked 19 hold 15

ITV22s on an untuned vehicle with my mods is ultimately and completely worth every penny. there is too much comparisson. the most difference being ENGINE NOISE. i hear nothing but the intake and turbo now. the timing at idle which i retardedly found myself listening to for minutes at a time previously, is smoother by a lot. initial pedal/revs to start out in first gear sound cleaner, and overall smoothness across the entire gearspan is very noticeable. i claim 0 hp gain, but any hesitation in between 2500-3200 is gone in all gears, i have to do a double take and convince myself its not there anymore, because its basically existed since i bought it new march 07. backfiring from my aftermarket BOV has not occured once. I do beleive my MPG has also improved mainly from all the extra gas the car saves from the 2500+rpm accelerations with no sputter or hesitation. its like the direct injection is actually doing its job.

Good write-up!
I really want to try another BPV/BOV. The Forge ping is starting to get old and mine still causes idle weirdness.

I'm dying to get my ITVs in, the stutter on shifts at WOT has been my only negative about the car, and the more mods I do, the worse it gets. I was going to do it last Fri, but would you believe that NOBODY in my area had them. So I had to postpone the plugs install.

Good write up. Thanks.

I had the same problem. I went to 3 different auto parts stores before I finally gave up and ordered them from PG. I left my contact info with 2 of the stores because they were going to see if they could special order them. It's been 2 weeks now and I haven't heard from either store.

hate to mention them since others have had bad exp, but SU sent mine within a day of ordering, and they are about 2 dollars cheaper + another 2.50 off if you have one of their coupon codes, in comparison to PG.

I ordered mine from Ken at PG. I'm willing to pay $2 more for the ease and convenience of ordering from PG. Ken is very helpful and I don't doubt that if there happens to be a problem, he's going to take care of it.
