Why so narrow?

weight. Stock is 7 inch. I figure it will be fine with an aftermarket wheel. I'm not planning on going too wide for tires either. probably stay 215.
I'm keeping my 18X8s. I want to try a smaller wheel/taller tire and see how it rides.

BTW, if you want a big return in search results for wheels on tire rack, pick the automatic RX8 with standard wheels and you'll get 3 times the number of wheels if you just select Mazda 3. Just pay attention to the offsets.

Yeah, I was considering 17's and was pissed when Tire Rack would not let me search for 17's for the MS3. And you cant get full specs & pricing (at least not easily) on their wheels until you do specify a vehicle. E-mailed them to let them know they needed to add 17's to the MS3's optional wheel sizes, and they said I could call the 800# to discuss 17-inch wheels.

And there's lazy, unresponsive customer service for you.

In the end, I think I'm going to just go for a light weight 18. Thinking the taller 17's will compromise handling more than I want to allow, and I don't have enough spare cash to just "try them out."

Actually, I found some traklites. I need to finger out if I want to pony up the extra cash for them vs. the Enkeis.
