What have you done to your P5 today?

I was doing some research to find a shop in my area that has good customer reviews that could do a transmission flush.

Well, that led to some research on the web...there is a lot of conflicting input on whether or not to do this procedure.

Any P5 automatic tranny users out there for or against the transmission flush?? I read a few reports that actually reported that the tranny flush essentially crapped out their transmission...i wouldn't care too much if it wasn't a $3000 transmission...bus hell, I don't want to do anything to even risk pissing my transmission off.

BTW, I am not experiencing any bizarre shifting or transmission problems...I'm just trying to be proactive and love my little transmission so it loves me back.

ive had my trans flushed twice now. no problems. just get it done somewhere reputable. i got it done at the dealership the last time. it may be more expensive, but they take care of me there, and stand by their work. if it were to crap out on me, they would fix it. i know not all dealerships are like that, but your local oil change place probably wont help you if something went wrong.

I just did my transmission flush using the how-to on here and it worked great. I got the valvoline maxlife dex/merc fluid and decided to change my filter while I was at it. For 10 quarts of fluid (you really only need 8 but I wanted to be safe) and the filter kit, I wanna say it was about 55-60 bucks. You don't have to change your filter at all (even though I recommend it since you don't know if a tranny flush has ever been done on the car). A word of advice however: Be VERY careful with the fitting on the radiator when you're taking off the hose so you can flush the fluid out. The how-to says to take it off at the radiator but to be honest, I would take off the side that's attached to the transmission and use that hose when you're flushing the fluid out. You'll see what I mean. If you have any questions or anything PM me and I'll hit you up with my cell number. The process is really easy and my shifts are actually a lot smoother now. Plus I have the added assurance that I have fresh fluid in the transmission.

Bought 4 H7's for the lights, and I even washed and waxed it in a nice 100 degree early morning.

The wash and Wax in such high temps should count for something....

Thanks!

Well with the fabrication techniques of today. Im sure if you got the cash flow you could put it in. I dont think it will bolt up though...lol

There is always a chance...There are some crazy swaps out there. Im sure if you find the right shop in your area, they could do it for you.

eh, I'm not gonna do it first.. its too much of a PITA..

although I'll bet a "mazdaspeedprotege5 3" would scream..

Why 4 H7's?

Today was my second trip into work patiently...ok frantically watching the temp gauge. Yesterday the needle made it to the 'H' just as I was limping it into my parking spot.

T-stat, rad cap, upper and lower hoses should be en-route as I type this.
