Pretty quick and easy install. I've only driven about 2 miles downtown and back but OMG it's a night and day diffrence! (shocked)

Wow...pretty cool. Didn't know that the little metal seal was welded on the IC. Could have made the install easier. I also noticed a nice gain with my 3.25.

Cooler air means keeping power longer. Nice mod. Nice design. Will make a big difference in hot weather and in heat soak conditions.

But, those welds . . . . they can do better than that. It cries out for some kind of cover along those edges where the IC core is welded to its base. And that weld on the front edge of the core. Whew!

I realize that clearance is marginal at best, but really, a 10 year old should be able to lay down better weld beads with 30 minutes of instruction and practice. Really. Are all ETS IC's welded that way? Maybe if a few folks bitched to them about it the quality control might improve. Dunno. Maybe it's just me. Should prove very functional, though.

what are you talking about...I think these aluminum welds are greats:

Great looking IC.

So the 3.25 comes with the nice cover over the core to base welding and the 3.5 purchased by the OP comes with the ugly welds still showing?

the older TMIC had the shroud welded on
the newer TMIC have the shroud bolted to tabs welded on

i'm looking at a used ets 3.25 inch tmic but it doesn't have the shroud. should i forget buying it if it doesn't have the shroud?

wouldnt it make more sense to put a heat shield between the valve cover and interwarmer? rather than put that weird plate around the outside?

the air duct has a rubber seal which presses closed against the shroud in the manner that it presses against the plastic mesh cover to direct air from the duct down onto the core

Ken, so no tmic shroud won't hurt performance?

I'm waiting on your PG TMIC, but I'm hurting real bad for a mod fix.

Wow, ETS really cleaned up their TMIC. It used to look like crap, but the last pic I saw of it almost looks as good as SU's TMIC. If they can't get their act together with fitment I'll be going with ETS, unless Ken at PG gets theirs out soon.

I agree, the newer ETS units look just as good as the SU units. Unless the new SU version is a lot better, just save yourself $35.00 and get the ETS (thumb)
