mazda 6 i ???

plz help, i wanna buy this 4 cyl 04 mazda 6 i. but i cant seem to find a turbo to put on it? wats the difference between a mazda6i and a mazdaspeed. and can i make it go fast affordably?

Fast, yes. Affordably/Bang for the Buck, no.

With a 6i, you're talking a straight up 2.3L 4cyl, FWD car. Mazdaspeed6 is that same engine with a turbo and top mount intercooler attached to an AWD setup. It's probably going to be a lot more expensive for you to get your 6i as fast as a Speed6 than it would be to just buy a Speed6 and just buying a few bolt-on modifications.

It's not the same engine. In addition to that, the direct injection in itself brings a substantial performance gain as well as numerous gains in efficiency and fuel economy.

Essentially what these users are saying, and I agree with them, is that you would be money ahead going with a Speed6. If you just purchased a 2.3L 6i you would be starting at a greatly disadvantaged position by not having a direct injected platform to start from.

You could always look at the V6 Mazda6. That will be much sportier than the 2.3L. Good luck.
