Cutting Springs.

yea.

just wanted info.. i knew most of this already i needed more clarity. my buddy was like.... cut them

i knew it ruined alot but just getting ppls opinions. when i wanna drop it some more im going to get coils. im not cheapin on my mazda. didnt even do that to the honda. ha

Don't some companies have dead coils on their springs for this purpose? Perhaps call the manufacturer of your springs to see if they purposefully put in dead coils so you could cut maybe 1/2 coil.

It's definitely not the way to go, but it will give you the desired height you want. The problem is, your ride quality and handling will be greatly affected.

No. That is not the purpose of "dead coils."

I was never serious about cutting my coils. I just heard through random conversations that the deal coils could be cut. I didn't know if it's a legit clame or not.

Sure 'nuff.

Although, I don't think the OP was ever going to cut his springs. I think he was just looking for the legitimate reasons why it's a bad idea.
