MS3 Quirks

i have trouble with smooth shifting 1-2 as well, but i have 20k miles on my car. i think the blocker rings for 2nd slow the trans down a whole lot faster than the other gears so the rpms drop faster. just a guess

Just curious what you do when you get a flat? Places to go, things to do, ain't got time for a tow :)

You can luck out like me. One day I randomly noticed I had a nail in my tire, didn't know how long it's been there. Thought about taking the nail out but figured my tire would go completely flat. So I drove around for two days with it in my tire, not even leaking air, then made my way into the dealer where my tire protection plan fixed it for free.

hey Sphincter, since we're both from Borlando, mind if i ask you which dealer & how much the tire plan cost? btw, great avatar (laugh)...but what is IT?

Metal part of the tire? I don't think these are steel-belted radials. Probably Kevlar.

I got my car from Classic Mazda on 436. I had them add the tire plan to my payments, so it's $3 a month added to your car payment. I debated getting it, but then said screw it I'm gonna get it cause it's so cheap. But look, it already paid for itself.

Hahaha, that's what my girlfriend asked me yesterday. I have no idea, it was hella funny when I first saw it.

Thanks for the explanation.

To add to the list..

-I find the clutch has a quirky feel (to me).

-Everyone that's ridden in my car has not only been impressed with the car's speed, but also the enormity of its glovebox.

-Although I'm not sure why, one of my favorite things about this car is the sound the doors make when you shut them.
my friend always joke about how you could smuggle baby mexicans across the border just by throwing them in the HUGE glovebox

a few gripes...

Hyper sensitive rain sensor. Even a drop of water causes to engage. I even had it to its least sensitive selection still even if it's foggy outside the moist easily confuses the blades. Perhaps something I will be mentioning to a dealer.

Switched my fogs to luminics yellow, few months later one goes ******* randomly out... I go down there twist the bulb a bit around, comes back on. Changed the bulbs, problem remains. Must be a loose connector, a bit of a piss off when others are rocking aftermarket bulbs with no probs. (notcool) My 4th-5th time undoing the screws just to make it appear back on and next day magically it's out again. Strange, I will have to report to my dealer shop, hope I didnt void my warranty... with aftermarket bulbs, you know how they are...

Stiff suspension: "**** me" I think to myself when running over rail way, I swear every time thinking shocks are gonna go... Slowing right down before any unpaved surfaces or patches on the road isn't very rewarding and usually causes cars behind pass you 95% of the time probably suspecting: Ur too slow in a car with a middle name "speed" or just cant/shouldnt drive.

Otherwise love the car, its red outshines all on the road ;))

Another odd feature is the ignition key release button. It's the first car I've owned that has it.

Also, for the such a tight-handling small car, the MS3 feels like it has a wide turning radius.

Is it your right bulb? I have gone through 2 bulbs on that side. Take a look at your connector the next chance you get. Mine looked like it got hot and that cause the connector to expand. I crushed it back down and put a leftover bulb from my first set in and it's working now. I expect it will just do the same thing all over again. I think it may have to do with most aftermarket bulbs drawing more current than the stock bulbs.

wow there are some wise asses on this forum. funny s***...

1) Brake dust on the front wheels is excessive
2) The car is bumpy (but to be expected)
3) Paint is thin (mucho chips at the front end)
4) I still need to get used to 6 speed (I've driven 5-speed all my life and the 6-speed gears are short)
5) No sunroof

I have noticed on a few occasions, the car has the ability to make women shed their clothing? Anyone else get that?

Also for some reason passengers tend to scream alot, grab on to things and yell things like "holy sh*t", or "OH MY GOD" . Doesn't happen in other cars I drive, just my MS3. I talked to the dealer and he said it was normal, but if it bothered me he could help me replace my passengers.

Similar things have happened with me. Snapped a hookers neck while entering boost...but thanks to mazda i was able to stick her in the glovebox! (nana)

but on a serious note...only real thing i've noticed is a popping noise very rarely when pulling out of the driveway...

other things are common such as:

the fan coming on after turning the car off on a hot day...
the "ticking" noise at idle (just the injectors working)
the car starting up at high rpm when cold...

i have a sport so i wouldnt be able to say anything about the auto wipers...
but the three things listed above are completely normal...

I get a click/clunky noise when i exit or enter my driveway slowly at sharp angles (putting a lot of stress on the front corner)

the first time that happened my gf was in the car and i busted out "BE QUIET!!!" lol and that freaked me out...

i have to approach and exit my driveway at an angle to avoid hitting the underside of the bumper...

i read that some have a similar problem but that if it happens rarely it's nothing to be worried about...now if its a constant thing then something is probably effed...

when i took it to the dealer i told the mechanic to look at it and he said everything was fine...may just be the cold like others said
