Ok I just got this used and as I'm sure everyone else realized when they got it. It's sits funny and I need new hoses for everything to reach and fit. The nipple is WAY smaller than my Turbo XS BPV so I was wondering what diameter hose people for to put on it.

PICS ADD FURTHER DOWN

if you're referring to the outlet, I believe they are 1"... any 7/64 or close vac hose will be fine, just throw a zip tie or 2 on it...

yeah, it's difficult to tell from op if he's talking about the recirc hose, which is about 1" or the little vacuum line coming off the back of the hks which is about 4mm.
and just out of curiosity, what do you mean when you say it's an inch, then say any 7/64 vac line would work?
or were you talking about two separate things and only separating those thoughts with an ellipses?

a 1" hose works for the outlet. a 7/64 (or anything anywhere near that) hose works for the vac fitting. it was supposed to be 2 thoughts, but came out as one... so that's how it made it into text. my bad.

I was actually talking about the vaccum line thanks everyone. I got that squared away and ran it for a few hours one day, then took it off. Sounded good but it made me lose nearly 2psi and it felt sluggish. I'll be selling it soon once I move this weekend and get settled.

you shouldn't lose boost because of it.... something is wrong.

Uh, lawl. You're not going to lose pressure with a working SSQV. Something is off with yours, or the installation is wrong.

Are you implying I was out-innanet'd? Son, I'm the fastest innaneter this side o' the Rio Grande. Keyboards at high noon.

I almost feel bad.. baiting you into a post full of win.. but you do lay them down with solid regularity and I hadn't seen one in a while.(cabpatch)

Yeah I know I shouldn't loose boost that's why I put my TurboXs one back on. I bought it from a guy on here and it was taken apart. THere is a rubber covered, metal gasket inside of it and no matter what I do I can not put this thing together with that gasket in it. I suspect that's the problem but I can't find any instructions for this thing anywhere. It's driving me nuts. The only other thing I can figure might be a problem is my recirc hose being kinked pretty hard in two spots because of how the HKS sits. From what I've read though a leaking BOV/BPV is what caused loss of boost. About that rubber gasket. It seems like the allen screws are just a hair too short to thread in with that thing installed. Anyone have any advice?

pics.

I'll take some and post them tonight. The HKS is at my new house and I'm in the process of moving this weekend so I'll be over there in a little bit.

Ok so here are some pics...

This is what I got in the mail basically (excluding the HKS VTA fin he threw in)

This is the rubber covered metal gasket I'm talking about

Taking it off is the only way I can get the outer shell to go on. It's like the allen screws are too short or something. This is how I ran it in recirc when I was short on boost and sluggish.

This is the ultimate goal here but this thing is boning me HARD

Any help is GREATLY appreciated! I bought this thing and I'd really like to be able to use it. Is it possibly something fell out of the box. It wasn't taped well when I got it and maybe something is missing?

all things i think i know what the problem is bro. when the the rubber covered metal part is on it should only have 4 screws. the other four hold the metal shroud on. look carefully at the metal shroud and you will see that 4 of the holes are straight through, they go one straight hole then one with metal for the screw to grab then one straight hole then one for the screw to grab etc. so you have to take off the metal front look at it and you will see. then bolt the rubber covered metal with the 4 screws it needs. slide the metal shroud over and then do the last 4. i think thats it and you can look at the hks instructions for which 4 exactly but like i said look at just the shroud in the light and you will see every other hole is bigger to let the screw pass. i will link the directions...
