artwork on the car - and maybe an innovative idea

does anyone have actual artwork / custom paint on their ms3?

for example, anything from a crazy anime custom painting to a vinyl of the us flag or whatever,, heheh. or two-tone paint... anybody here have pics of an ms3 that is two-tone (i.e. red and black).

while I don't want to turn my ms3 into any sort of fanboy car just waiting for people to throw eggs at it, I have this idea......

I am considering contacting microsoft or bungie, in regards to them sponsoring some sort of Xbox / Halo 3 / Halo Wars theme on my car. ideally they would pay for all the custom artwork or whatever, maybe throw in a part or two, and I would simply drive it around like a moving advertisement for their games, and probably would be required to participate in local auto shows or whatever.

I know this is extremely far-fetched but just felt like throwing it out there. now I have to go back to creating spreadsheets at work... :P

Well lets hope its a vehicle wrap so it can be nursed back to health once you are done with it.

Not to rain on your parade, but I serously doubt MS or any large business will deal directly with an average Joe for something like that. Those vinyl wraps you see on cars are contracted thru advertising agencies. I forget the names of the companies, but if you let them wrap an ad on your car, you can potentially get paid several hundred dollars a month.

But you don't get to choose the ad. And they want detailed info on where you drive & park regularly. And they install a GPS monitor- if you speed too much, or if you don't go to the places you say you go, they can revoke your contract.

If you're desperate to ditch your car payment, it can help, but I personally find it very intrusive and rather cheesy.

sounds like a great way to keep up with a new teenage driver!! and they pay you!!! :)

Please dont ever do US Flag vinyl wraps. The flag must stay on the pole where it can fly in the wind, not get trashed and jacked up by road debris or in a wreck.

Wow... not being a partent, I hadn't thought of that!!! Brilliant! And if you could get them to wrap it in an ad for Depends, or maybe Summer's Eve, it might embarass the kid into driving safely. Or driving it off a cliff... guess it depends on the kid. Better be careful. (eek2)

HA! i was thinking the same thing... dam thats funny...

what better thing for your teenage son, than a nice kotex ad job, in brilliant hot magenta!!!!

you've got to REALLY need to drive somewhere (and forget looking cool) to take that 'bobo, the kid's birthday party clown' ad-wrapped mini van....

yes... this falls under 'things you don't do with Old Glory' rules..... though i must confess, i do fly a small one on the back window sometimes...

honestly, I think microsoft/bungie are done marketing for halo....maybe something newer coming out but I'd imagine they'd want something that will be seen at major shows/events. If you can prove you're willing to do that then maybe. However, you'll prob. end up paying more to get your car to/from shows then you'd get paid. I see where you're going with it, but this I personally don't think you'd have much to gain from it.

not an ms3, but still...

its still a few days away from being done, the concept was to totally sleeve up an entire car by hand with ink & a paint brush. we've never seen it done before, and if you're gonna do something this nuts you go big or go home. we were pushing to debut the car at HIN Austin this weekend, but i'm not holding my breath just yet.

by the way, if you're kind of conservative this is really really really not for you & you can probably go click on a another thread full of wrb cars on gold rims with stock headlights & fawn over them.

cool, nice artwork hehe

yeah but I agree I was just drinking too much coffee and I would look and feel foolish driving a blinged out car.

that being said.................... If I could ever afford two cars, say like a camry daily driver and then the ms3 as a project car, I would seriously consider getting some crazy artwork.

I am going to keep thinking in the mean time, as eventually I would like to add something subtle....... maybe even just a good old AEM sticker for +10HP. :)
