What have you done to your P5 today?

Gonna be installing moar lights tomorrow

Putting the driving lights into the msp fog deletes like so

then installing a header on JC-MP5's car

Left mine home for Tamz to take to work. In a bit I'll be checking the MPV for vacuum leaks followed by a MAF cleaning.

Pro5x2, Do those deletes come with the open back, or you cut that off yourself? I'm pretty sure you cut it yourself, just checking. I have been thinking about moving my fogs, going with deletes and making them into semi-functional air ducts to bring air into the engine bay. It won't make much of a difference but every little bit helps right?

Edit* I'll probably only make one of them into an air duct actually if I do it, don't think the passenger side would end up doing anything.

Those are Mazdaspeed fog deletes. That's just how they come For the 03.5 MSP lip.

The big pro5/mp3 foglight deletes are quite different and solid back

You could relocate to the center grill and run some Blazer projector fogs

like so

The driving lights will be in the fog deletes where stock fogs would be.

The fog projectors are nice, but, not visible during the daytime as a daytime driving light and with the projectors going into the headlights, it'll be the same issue.

I want some sort of halogen reflector based light as a DRL

Ya, looking at the deletes for the pro5/mp3 I thought they looked kind of funky a while back and I sorta put the thought to the back of my head. Seeing yours from the msp revived my idea but I'm not sure if it would work out. I would want to see some of the mp3 deletes in person to have an idea of how it would work out before I bought some.

And ya, I was just thinking I would relocate the oem fogs to the center, similar to that setup you linked up above.

Maybe I'll just remove my driver side foglight (and leave the passenger one) and ghetto rig some s***! haha trailer park powAh!@!

(lol) joke.

Edit* Is that an 03.5 lip on that protege5 above? Maybe I should just get one of those lol. Kill 2 birds with one stone!

I kinda had a feeling you'd come to that conclusion. HID fogs are kinda fail. They look pretty, but the light output is pointless.

I dunno how that would work honestly. There isn't anything to mount the lights to with those.

As to making your foglight holes "functional", you'll have to take a hole saw to em

Like so

You wouldn't have to cut through the foglight bracket. Just remove it.

Then, run some ducting to your brakes, and, you've got functional "speed holes" lol

I think you not catchin ma drift.

Those projector fogs are ill! Especially with the 3000K HID's in em! They are 100% wider than the stock fogs and cutoff is sick!

BUT, they are not useful as a daytime running light. The TL projectors going in the headlights will also be uber ill from dusk to dawn but will suck the crap balls as DRL's as well with the cutoff.

Hence wanting the little bity halogen driving lights soley to be used during daylight hours.

It'll also keep the bulb life higher on the HID setups since they won't be used unless it's dark out

Have you used them in fog yet? You'd understand my reasoning then.

what is this "fog" you speak of? I don't remember the last time we have had fog. lol

I was thinking about doing the same thing once I find some fog deletes for the P5. I also saw this little functioning air scoop from Corksport and would like to make one for the summer time here in Ohio. I would just attach some dryer tubing to the back of the fog delete and run it to the filter of my AEM intake. Good ole dryer ducting FTW!

Is there something special about the black face guages...I honestly haven't been in my car for so long that I don't remember what color they really are...

Fitted up my OEM steel hood after driving around with no hood for two days lol. The RC CF hood is 7/8th of the way to it's new owner in Michigan. At least it looked cool with no hood  ...

They are out of the DX model, correct?

And 02 pro5's had white faced with 02.5's and up being silver facced i think

Yeah...something like that. I have the black/white theme hence the change.
Look better IMHO.

After a couple of trips to the hardware store I got my seats mounted to their brackets. I ended up having to get bolts with an allen key head because there wasn't enough space within the rail for a standard hex head. All that remains now is to remove the old seats, trick the airbag sensor and install the new seats. I just hope everything goes smoothly (ie no airbag explosion or airbag lights)!
