How-To: Home Depot (HD) Lip

which side of the molding do you use for the outside view, the side with the ridge, or the side without, or is it preference?

i went to home depot to pick up all this stuff last week. home depot didnt have the exact rubber used here. they had mostly vinyl stuff and the rubber they did have was too soft, and was not nail on.

i drive .2 seconds down the street to lowes and found the exact same one from the OP. i havent had a chance to put this on yet, but does it just attach right underneath the bumper? or do we have to like fold it over on anything?

I think every one is using the side that is depicted as slanting on the bag in the first post to attach to the bumper. When that side is attached you get a slight angle out from the underside of the bumper and then the little lip is pointing back toward the car.
has anyone done this on a M6i 06 Sport?

I think i'll try this.
I think this is addressed on the previous page.

I had the same experience (Lowes). I did fold mine and roll it up on itself before installation to try to accentuate the crease, but I honestly don't think it made any difference in the finished product.

I Never Did The Hd Lip Cause I Just Dont Like The Idea Of A Black Lip On My Car...and I Was Thinking About Having It Painted But Was Worried Cause I Didnt Think It Would Hold Up...so Jbinx How Is The Paint Holding Up To The Rocks And Stuff Hitting It? BTW IT LOOKS VERY NICE ON YOUR CAR

well honestly, the paint is holding fine to daily driving. the problem is my car is too low, so i keep scraping the driver side on my work's steep ass driveway. so obviously the paint is coming off there, as well as the rubber is getting destroyed very quickly. this will be coming off once it starts to look too ghetto, lol...its a shame cuz it looks great in person, love it, just not durable enough

Was finally able to install mine today (although it is technically a Lowe's!). I used two strips of 3M tape, as well as their adhesive promoter which really lets the tape grab. I have used this system before so don't expect any problems with it coming off without using screws. I mounted mine differently from most, with the part of the lip you can see only the angle (not the vertical piece on the bottom). Hey, if I don't like it I can change it!

This might have been stated, but is this possible on the Speed3? I'm assuming it is but I think you'd have to take off the small stock rubber strips.

Yes It Can Be Done On The Mazdaspeed 3...and I Havent Seen Anyone With This Done As A Side Skirt But Go On And Be The First To Try It
