Only for a short while till all this economic bulls*** turns around. Once it does, my work is gonna explode with business (I'll be averaging about $1,400.00 a week take home again). We were on track for 3-4 HUGE years, but then all this s*** happened.

Once it subsides, I'll be getting back into it, I may just be leaning towards G-Body Buicks though. I've wanted a Grand National since I was a kid.

um, your income? that has absolutely nothing to do with a cars value. Thats what dealers go buy, what the car is valued at.

It depends. Dealers always offer less than private sales.

But something to consider is that you'll get a sales tax savings in most states -- you only pay tax on the difference between the trade-in and the other vehicle.

i.e. if your new car costs $25,000, and they give you $20,000 for the trade, you only pay tax on $25000-$20000=$5000. Compare that to tax on $25,000 and you see why some people are actually better off trading in.

I haven't been on here at all, being my MS6 is more of just a daily driver then an actual enthusiast car, but just happened to pop in when I saw this thread. I read through it, with something VERY in common, so I wanted to respond. If you look below, you will see my past and current vehicles.

Interesting change you went through. I can tell you in case you don't already know, that the market value of the S2K has really suffered badly.

The MS6 is truly a great daily driver, and even better in the snow then my former STI. However, when it comes to fun, I can't even remotely compare it to my S2000. If you make this change, hopefully you won't find yourself in this position again, but it's fun changing around cars, and can be addictive. I finally stopped the insanity.

Looks like you have crossed all borders in daily drivers in a short amount of time, without a solution yet, but perhaps the MS6 would suit your needs. I could never drive my S2K as a daily. You may find yourself in this position again if you were to get rid of your S2K for a Mazdaspeed 6 if you end up missing that nimbleness. Going from a pure sports car to a luxury performance sedan has it's compromises, which is why I own both.

In reliability, I give the nod to the S2K, as I will be selling my Mazdaspeed 6 as soon as it reaches 50k miles and warranty is up (one year from now).

They are night and day cars, with absolutely nothing in common as you probably already know. Good luck in your search, and try not to miss the S2K too much.

i keep wanting to just say forget everything and go out and get this one, but it's the best deal on any speed6 that i've seen on paper, but I haven't gone to test it. $19.9 w/3k miles, but it's a 3 year old car though or more. so it's usually not good to let a car sit.

That's pretty sketchy. That motor hasn't even been fully broken in yet, not to mention, why was it traded in, in the first place? I'd do some major homework before heavily considering that one. Not to say that it couldn't turn out to be an excellent buy, but just make sure you check it out thoroughly before hand.

Given that, I would say purchase it contingent on the warranty having not been previously voided. That is a really good deal.

that's why I say it's a good deal, but like Atreyu3388, I would highly recommend checking it out, and the fact that the car was sold in december of 05, doesn't make it any better. overall, i would say it would be worth a gamble with the remainder of the warranty and extended warranty to go with it.

A Speed 6 Gt, fully loaded, with 15K miles should cost you no more than $18K. I got mine for 17K with 12500 miles (fleet vehicle). $19K is too much. Also, make sure the car is in stock form. If the car comes with even a CAI, there's a chance it was modded heavily and you don't want to deal with any issues down the road there......

The reason fleet vehicles are cheaper is because people BEAT THE PISS out of them. A fleet vehicle can have up to 7 different drivers a week. I would take a private owner/dealership car over a fleet vehicle any day as the people driving them, don't care about them...why? BECAUSE IT'S NOT THEIR CAR. There is a reason for everything in life, especially things that involve money.

(I speak from experience, my future uncle-in-law is a fleet manager for an Insurance Company here and HE won't even buy fleet vehicles, FROM HIMSELF!)

Keep the S2000 and get the MS6, then you have the best of both worlds. Or get an 8. Great DD in my opinion.
