She's Knocked up.... Need a wagon

no rush, they have a bunch like that.
They are a small dealer but have like 12 used outbacks.

I've sworn an oath to myself that I would never buy a Subaru that was not turboed. I'll always feel like I'm missing something.

Or a Ford County Squire.

I just couldnt reduce myself to a ball-less wagon
so I ended up with this

Its certainly a no frills vehcial compared to something like a CX-7/9 that has WAY to much electronic insanity to me.
Alot less stuff to break or become problematic.

Also, its the cheapest truck based SUV other then the FJ Cruiser which the rear door was no go for the wife.
I had been considering a CX-9, highlander, even a RAV but for the price and what I wanted for ass kick ability, I ended up at the Xterra.

whaaa... no mazda5?

Edit: read the whole thing... i see it was suggested.

the 5 has the turning radius of the 3 (mini cooper style turning) but more room. Feels like a car on the road. My wife didnt want a tall lumbering suv, cause she still want to be able to see around and behind. she test drove a few suvs, and then the 5. the 5 won hands down. and sliding doors are pretty sweet. I dont think the 5 really looks like a mini van either. most people wont even know what it is.

The Xterra is actually a pretty nice ride. No nonsense, great motor, rugged. I like it. Almost got one.

MY wife took one look at the 5 and said she would rather die then drive a minivan (meaning the 5).
She also shot down the CX-7 and CX-9 for looking to mini van-ish.
She is a tough one though. Once I brought home a Nissan frontier and she asked me why I did go test drive a real truck.

She actually LOVES how well she can se everything in this vehicle.
She had no problem parking in anyway including parallel.

The first gens could be had with a supercharged V6. Truth be told, they were solid but not great engines. Only 210hp and 246lb ft. torque.

The current Xterra is much quicker.

VQ40DE 4.0-liter DOHC 24-valve V6 engine
261 hp @ 5,600 rpm
281 lb-ft of torque @ 4,000 rpm

I am getting an average of 19 mpg.

Good choice! Once I had my daughter I realized my Suzuki Grand Vitara wasn't big enough, so I bought a Speed6. Now I find out I have another on the way in Oct. and I really wish I would have bought a van or suv. My next vehicle will be a Mazda5.

August 14th that may get moved up though since he is already 6 pounds
