save up and get a vibrant or perrin. somthing that is 3''. the corksport is 2.4'', definately not ideal for power gains on a turbo car.
The Perrin is discontinued and the Vibrant has a cat. Neither are true 3" either as they shrink down to 2.5" to mate up with the stock s-pipe (Vibrant) or j-pipe (Perrin). The Corksport is catless, bolts right up to everything and is substantially cheaper. 2.4" is more than enough for just about everyone on these forums. Unless you're running a larger turbo at 10+ psi it's unlikely you will see a difference between 2.4", 2.5" or 3" with the exception of lost torque.save up and get a vibrant or perrin. somthing that is 3''. the corksport is 2.4'', definately not ideal for power gains on a turbo car.
Bang for the buck, Corksport is really good. I'm making 200whp/196wtq at stock boost.
You will make more power with it than you would with any midpipe
I have a cat btw, they don't kill power.

they have options for a cat on th midpipe? or... huh?
Im trying to debate which exhaust will help me with performance and sound in my mazdaspeed protege is between the GHL Stainless Steel Turboback Exhaust System or the PERRIN Performance 3" Exhaust System which one you guys think is better?
Good luck finding either as they are both now discontinued. As suggested above, go for the GHL if you can find it.Im trying to debate which exhaust will help me with performance and sound in my mazdaspeed protege is between the GHL Stainless Steel Turboback Exhaust System or the PERRIN Performance 3" Exhaust System which one you guys think is better?
GHL and Ion are the 2 ass kicking exhausts for this car, as mentioned, neither is in production anymore.... theres an ion setup (minus the DP) in the FS section right now... Corksport is a fine exhaust unless you're after like... 350+ whp, but drones a bit on the highway from what I've heard. There are, I believe, 2 custom DP's in the works right now (terbow is in charge of one, I forget the other.. timelines are kinda sketchy), and if you got ahold of one of those, you could piece together your own killer system with the help of an exhaust shop for cheaper than most off the shelf units, and have similar, potentially higher gains... assuming you go to a GOOD exhaust shop.
also, can i just weld in a straight pipe in place of the downpipe? isnt that pretty much all they are? the catless ones
