Sitting outside right now... waiting for the MS6 to cool off so I can attempt to change the oil.

Took the route for Sunday and it's awesome. I had never been on half of the roads we're taking and they're amazing. I wish I'd found out about them sooner. Part of the drive will be very scenic including a stop at the Barkhamsted Dam.. Very pretty. If you'd like a photo op (as long as it's nice enough out), this is a good opportunity.

I can play official photog. According to the forecast, it is highly likely that I'll be a passenger. I'll bring along my tripod.

Here is some ******* bulls*** for you all.. I'm seriously irate and come monday morning the Florida DMV is going to receive a very angry phone call.

Backstory: Being that I am in the military I can have my vehicle registered in my home state while being stationed out of state. I am required to sign an affidavit stating that I do not drive in FL so I can have insurance in the current state I am registered in. Like: FL License, FL Registration, CT Insurance (Due to being stationed in CT)

Still with me?

Last year in December I switched my insurance from FL to CT like I was supposed to and GEICO sent a letter to FL DMV stating that I didn't have FL insurance like they are supposed to. I did all this running around getting an affidavit signed and notarized(costing me money!) to fax off to the FL DMV stating that I am military and blah blah blah..

I got a call back a few days after the event (Dec 16th) stating that my issue was resolved and everything was all good. Yay, right? **** NO! So apparently my license, registration, and tags from FL have been in suspension for the past 3 month. Yes, the past 3 DAMN MONTHS. I just got the letter in the mail today.

Now I have to mail them proof of insurance, 150 bucks for a fine, and mail in official copy of proof of insurance from GEICO covering the period of my suspension.

.......and yes, I am royally pissed off.

dude that sucks ass..FL DMV FTL..good thing the (five-0) didnt stop u.. ud be paying alot more fines..

The kicker... I thought I had all this resolved (at least I was told I was) before I drove from CT to FL and back for Xmas.

I got the letter this afternoon in the mail.. After the DMV was closed for the weekend. What a bunch of assholes.

Here's my BS for the day. Got the car inspected, it passed. Though when the guy came out with my car he handed me my rear license plate frame saying, "Your not allowed to cover up the plate." Huh? You can clearly see all the info. If you can not have a plate frame, then why do stores sell them? So I got home and it immediately went back on. HA!

HAHA nice,

My dad took the m3 out yesterday for me and gave it a well needed wash. According to my mom he feels the brakes are fine, and the clutch engages well (which I knew) but the pedal pops out a bit so he oked it. Not that he is a mechanic but still. I will probably be swapping cars next weekend, very excited :).

25. I was told my vehicle failed because the dealer license plate frame obstructs the logo "The Spirit of America" or "Massachusetts."
Regulations require that all letters, numbers, stickers, and symbols must be clearly visible on the number plate. A number plate frame that obstructs any part of the plate is illegal, and you could be fined for having an obstructed plate.

Its a dumb rule but I have heard about it before as well. The funny thing is I bought my 6 in NH because I still lived up there and they don't care about little stuff like that. So when I moved back to mass I still had the license plate frame from the NH dealer on it covered the "Mass" and even part of the stickers. I didn't really care and I even got pulled over once and the cop didn't say anything about it.

I can see the arguement of covering the state name or the registration stickers but having it be illegal for covering the slogan at the bottom is just stupid.

Same here in PA in regards to the plate frames. I had a tinted shield over my plate since buying the car 3yrs ago and this year the mechanic takes it off when it was inspected. My bro-in-law is a township cop and confirmed that is illegal to have a shield (tinted or clear) along with the frames.

In addition to your question about stores selling them Josh, how about every dealer who puts one on there with their name for advertising purposes? Should the dealers be fined?

Chris.....so sorry to hear about your mess with the FL DMV. Get all your paperwork in order, give 'em hell and hopefully you can get the fines dropped.

**** the fines. I don't want the license suspension on my record. I haven't had a single ticket or problem on my license in 9 years.

Edit: I rented a car lift bay on base today for about 6 bucks for 5 hrs worth of work.. Including stopping for a pizza break.
