Acura Working on BMW X6 Competitor

This somewhat-blurry photo is believed to have caught Acura's proposed challenger to the BMW X6. Caught in the icy depths of Winnipeg, Canada, by an Autoblog.com reader, the car may be on its way to getting a public debut.

Acura has not yet mentioned anything about an upcoming crossover, but these shots combined with its previous appearance on the Nrburgring scream Acura styling. If it does come to market, it would be taking on a segment dominated by both the Infiniti FX and the BMW X6.

Since it is stripping off camo in the Great White North, there is a definite chance this crossover gets its launch at the New York International Auto Show in April. After all, Americans are still a prime demographic for this segment of auto. If Acura is looking for a bigger debut, we may see this thing stay under wraps until September's Frankfurt Motor Show.

How so? I think the TSX TL and RL are all great cars. The MDX and RDX are both good SUV's the Turbo in he RDX is great. The looks are an either you love it or hate it kinda thing but look past the grille and you'll see 5 great auto's.

Try to picture it body color thats what the dealership down here is doing to almost all of their new Acuras... it looks good body color.

Acura's sales blow and are only getting worse. This piece of s*** isn't going to help.

Acura sales are completely down the crapper. They can't give those MDX's away right now. Honda Pilot is the same thing, sales at a stand still.

People won't look past the grille in that price range. People with Acura type of money to spend can find a car they like everything about, just too many good choices at that price range.

Acura was losing the sales battle with Lexus so they changed things up. Unfortunately for them the drastic changes only made things worse.

Not to mention they dropped one of the best selling sport coupes in favor of allowing Si sales to pick up.
