Need some advice on my new baby

:
06 LS MS6
07 BM GT (shell has been struck from the roll)
Greetings all,

Just bought a 2007 MS3 GT 35,500 miles

*Plan to buy the MEPP stated warranty, trussville quotes $1004 to go out to 75K and 5Y Anyone done better?

*Checked with mazda,registered, found the
4607F
4807H
4907H
DONE

4607B
not done

*Are there any tweaks, upgrades, service bulletins, parts likely to fail, etc that I should try to get the dealer to perform/replace now before my bumper to bumper expires ?

*For the most part, I do not want to get involved in upgrades and mods,
I got the car cuz it is quick and had a very good stereo out of the box
It replaces a 99 corolla that I have spent way to much time on, a car with more mods than I can remember doing, and unfinished plans still in progress. suffice to say it has an ultrashield seat bolted to the floor, 3200watts of amps and a 4into2 exhaust, delrin chassis bushings and let your mind wander from there

Do not want to do that again

but, if some fairly invisible mods come to mind that offer big bang for the time invested feel free to advise and reccomend

THANKS

Damn this thing is quick!!!!

Well to start, make sure the dealer has done motor mount bolt recall. Make sure that is done. Because that is definitely a part that could fail. If your windshiled is creaking over small bumps (its the windshield cowl) there is a TSB for the fix that wouldn't be covered under the powertrain. Did you carfax the car before you bought it?

You can't get an extended warranty through mazda?

Will listen for the windshield
MEPP-mazda extended protection plan
4607F is the bolt recall

From what I've read so far (and experienced), you won't really notice the windshield except in colder temperatures. Dunno where you are located, but if it gets below 30ish degrees, you should probably get it done. Hell, just get it done anyway if they're not going to charge you for it.

tampa

and it has been freezin here some mornings
last week, I had this s*** on the window, whitish, and I had to get out a credit card and scrape it off!!!
anyone know what it was?? only happened once

you can fix the sqeeky windshield for under $10 with some rubber mastic tape and a 2 inch plastic putty knife. Just take out the two screws on the plastic windshild wiper housing then pry it up a little bit with the putty knife then slide some rubber tape under there and your golden.

I like that

how floppy is the rear bumper cover supposed to be?

Shop for the warranty. You can do better than Mazda's. Might be worth it to put the money in a savings account and let it draw piddly interest. You may never need it.

Let me check my extended warranty info in the morning when I get home from work. I bought my '09 MS3 from Ferman Mazda on Adamo in Tampa/Brandon in September. I didn't negotiate an extended warranty plan- I just insisted that they throw that in before we even start negotiating anything else. (I know that means they didn't come down in price as far as they would have, but I figured it was worth $1-1.5k, depending) The plan I got goes 7y/100k total. I'll hit your e-mail with the details by Noon.

Like you, one of the reasons I got the MS3 was that I have been mod-mad for over 15 years, and I wanted a car that was quick enough to help avoid the mod temptation, which was the only way to make an extended warranty worth squat in reality.
