what rpm to shift at

Yeah I have almost the same mods as you and in 3rd after 5500 RPM the car just seems to turn into a VTAK (hand)

my friend has the same effect with his civic si lolz

Wisnia can you tell me how the tune works? I know you have to send the ECU. How would returning back to stock work or would that not be possible?

I know everyone is talking about shifting and all that, but i had a quetion...
OK so i took my car out and showed my cousin the limiter. so from a complete stop, i held the clutch, pressed the gas all the way down and made it reach the limiter, then i released the clutch. I knew it would burn out but then it stayed where it was, then droped, then when it dropped i switched to 2nd. Is that bad for my car. My car is stock. 08 MS3, any suggestions. and usually i take my rpms to past 6 just for fun, is that hurting my car? any comments would help thanks guys. 08 ms3 about 5500k on it...anyone? please? lol.

Shouldn't hurt it, if it does, take it to the dealer. If you don't exceed redline and it breaks, you're in the clear - assuming its stock.

Quick question, is the redline for the '08's the same as the '07's?

it may not hurt now, but down the road it could slim the life of the engine

lol why would you do this! you must hate your car I would not suggest this unless you wanna break the mounts on purpose. The shifting isnt bad but with all that torque dumping it like that from a stop is going to break stuff at some point.

Nah..just do it at least daily to break it in.

well, s*** i figured it would lessen the life if i did it every time but since it was once, (and i dont think i will do it again, even the driving past 6k rpm) I think it should be ok. In the long run i guess i would be F*&^ed but wont do THAT again trust me. Thanks for the comments that you guys made, serious ones and non-serious ones....till next time
