OK. So I've been doing a bunch of logging recently while dialing in the SS Map clamp. The first one looks OK. The second does not, but no boost cut that time. 3rd log was in 4th gear and I hit one boost cut. 4th had no boost cut, but it looks like crap. Mods are: MSCAI, Forge BPV (blue spring with 2 shims), SU boost tubes, ETS TMIC, SS Map clamp, CS DP & RP, and some suspension and rims. I definitely will be getting a fuel pump next, then probably a tuner of some sort.

Thoughts?

Definately fuel pump. You fuel pessure shouldn't be dropping below 1000 during WOT which I think is giving you all your knock retard in 4th. Plus Your boost seems a little low around 14.5 psi. Yea I know thats stock but on my setup I'll get a slight spike in 4th to 20 psi and it will hold at 15-16 psi.

That's the map clamp holding the boost the ecu see's to that level. My boost gauge is showing 19-20psi regularly.

Ugh I need to do some WOT logs that show boost. Under normal driving, my boost doesn't get very high at all (around 4.8PSI at 4000 rpms). This is not under very heavy acceleration by any means though. Do you have to go WOT for a few seconds in order to sustain the 15.6PSI peak of the stock turbo/tune?

Sorry for the thread jack.

What year is your car? If 2007 you should print out this log and take it with you to the dealer and get the TSB done (Both PCM update and the new FP).

A tune never hurts as well.

Is the new fuel pump that the dealer would install the same as the one you would buy the internals for or full new FP from say cp-e?

It is a 2007. The last time I was into the dealer for service, I asked about TSB's and the service manager said that I didn't need any.

Well you'll need to put your foot in it to get the boost up near max. Maybe not WOT, but close.

Check the TSB and see if your VIN falls under the TSB. If it does then I would print out your log and tell him he is full of s***. Tell him you have all the symptoms and the log proves that your FP is dropping below the Mazda Specs on the TSB.

If it does not, then I would still take a print out too him and tell him you have an issue TSB or not. Your FP is not holding up and really that's all it is too it.

No the sender unit on the 2007's had an issue (IE. Bad Pump) and would not hold pressure as intended. The fix is a PCM update and a new FP. Some dealers are lazy and god help me I can't understand why they refuse to fix stuff under warranty when they get PAID no matter what.

I use to get all the same stuttering issues other people have had. My DH showed my FP dropping down to 900PSI when WOT. My dealer gave me the PCM update first but I still had the issue so they replaced my FP.

With the mods in my SIG I have NO issue with FP anymore.
