Traded my 08 Mazdaspeed 3 in this past weekend

those are good numbers, but when I see this car, I don't see performance, I see some older dude driving this car around. Was your biggest motivation about buying this car because of potential power? I hope you like the car, but I can't see you being happy about this car for long considering the list of cars you owned.

Stock power is even impressive- fastest car I've ever owned. Pulls harder than my Stage2 STi on the highway and launches harder the MS3 due to rwd and pulls way harder on hwy compared to MS3- 80 extra hp and 45 extra ft/lbs stock help.

I know the economy is tough, I personally have not felt the economy "pinch", probably because I don't work in retail or in manufacturing or loans/realty. But because of this "economy", I can buy and trade cars in and be comfortable with the prices they are at :cool:

There are kids in africa that are starving, lacking water and medical attention, send them some of your food, send them some of your water and send them your kaiser card, sharing is caring, right?

The Crossfire would be a really cool car if it was not butt ugly. Sorry man, but that is why it didn't do well in the market. It's a modern day Pinto/Gremlin.

You would have been better off selling the MS3 and dropping that 19k into a turbo setup for the S2K. You would have made more power than both, had a really hot looking car that was also fast as hell.

I've heard turbo S2ks are scary fast but I've never seen any true numbers posted either dyno or at the track. Not to mention it's very small- it crushes my legs when driving (I'm not small), has no torque, and is about 5k more expensive in STOCK form. I can build a 12.1-12.4 second for LESS than the price it is to buy a 2005-newer S2k. I do however have to say the gearbox on the S2k is a dream.

Yeah man, I initially got interested in these cars after seeing this guy run at my local track. Since then I've connected with him online and we plan to meet up sometime and talk shop and answer a bunch of aftermarket questions for the car. Btw, this run was with only a crank pulley upgrade and CAI intake:

Go to S2KI.com. Turbo S2K's out run exotics. A simple turbo setup will give you around 350WHP/235TQ ish. There is a SC'd S2K on the forums that is pushing almost 600WHP and a 10k Redline and smokes Z06's like they are Smartcars. His forum name is Sideways so you can do a search for his latest encounters. A buddy of mine a Modacar in CA has a Turbo'd S2K that puts down 373WHP and it is a total monster. The nice thing about it is that even with that power it is still very drivable due to the low TQ.

The S2K has a TON of potential. The downside is that it will cost you every penny of that 19K to do it. A basic kit on the S2K is around 10k. My buddy has about 20k into his car. The S2K has potential but it costs a LOT of cash to do it as anything for the S2K is expensive and why I sold mine.

The SRT6 is a very nice car power wise.
 
Trade as often as you like. There's nothing better than getting another car. Trading the MS3 though?? I bet your a communist!!

Honestly, the ONLY people that I have heard say that the Mazdaspeed3 was ugly were WRX, SRT4, EVO and SI fanboys. Every reveiwer that is pretty unbiased has said the design is slick and probably the most appealing.

Ugly or not who cares- most cars on the road will on get to see it's tails anyway. (wiggle)

PS I happen to think the MS3 is a beautifully designed car- if not somewhat ordinary looking (ie doesn't turn heads). That can be both a good and a bad thing.

PS The amount of "haters" of this car makes me like it even more- as bizzare as that sounds. ;)

I can see how you'd feel that way. For some reason, it emphasizes the fact that you're different and that little piece of heaven is yours and not something shared with the masses.

Jared, are you referring to aesthetic mods? The very first two purchases will be ASP 178mm crank pulley and a Needswings CAI. Mid 12's with those two. (boom04)
