VTEC Dave stopped waitin', now which car should he get?

lol well..im gonna take one stab at this new car thing..apparently troy mazda has a 08 cosmic blue speed3 im gonna give them a call on tuesday and see wat we can work...if they can get me a payment of 350-400 i might jump on the deal but im gonna make sure i dont sign that day..give me a nite to think about it.

Dave, don't go in and tell them you want a payment within a certain amount, that is not the smart way to shop. I would bet that they'll find whatever way they can to manipulate your payment, and that may not be what you want them to do.

While you've got some time, read this article, it outlines everything. It's got a few steps, but worth the reading time:

If you go in and tell them what you want to pay they will give you that, thats how Raychel ended up with a 2.slow base 3 for more than I paid for my MS3. Wheel and deal and if its still not what you want then tell them what your looking for.

It's one thing to go in and say " I wanna get X and I'm gonna pay $XX,XXX for it", but its completely different if you go in and say "I want a payment between X and Y per month".

More than likely, you'll be better off taking the rebate and going to a credit union for financing. I'll talk with my mom when I get home and see about financing options, and what her suggestions are.

When I was buying my car there wasnt a dealer or bank around that could beat the financing options of my credit union. The rates have gone up 1% since that time though, if you qualify for it anyway.

my credit uniom starts at 5.75 and I'm not stating wat I wanna pay a month....i know u always negotiate car price first

staying where i'm at. i'm not going anywhere. GMC is not going anywhere. buick gmc and cadilliac are gm's most profitable brands. i'm safe and not in fear of losing my job. if i was i'd already be job hunting. i'm fine.

I made these exact statements 30 days ago!

That I was safe from a layoff. I NEVER in a million years thought I would have gotten laid off from Budco. I had no idea that the Accountants were ever going to be allowed to downsize the company without Upper Managements input.

Well, I only said what I said so Ray would consider it before it actually could happen.

I would have said the same thing for fellow Circuit City employees. Anyone who still works there is absolutely retarded to still be working there. I would have started looking for a new job almost an entire year ago.

Ray works for a dealership that sells a product that is suffering and on the brink of shutting down production. I don't think it's too radical for me to suggest that he should consider his options.

He could seek out any of the dealerships in Troy or Farmington Hills with wealthier areas and foreign dealers that haven't lost a dime.

At worst, he could atleast network and meet some people who work at these dealers, hell, even a Honda dealership..you never know who you may need to talk to or meet along the road.

It's not what you know, but who you know sometimes.

That is what it is all about. ALWAYS

Dealers arent hiring in this mess... They are downsizing. With the loss in sales the cost of hourly employees is paiful, thus letting them go and putting it on the sales people to porter their own cars and what not... Gm is asking for their exec to step down in lew of the loan, half of what they asked for. But... Time will tell...

the reason i'm not scared is if GM does go under we will pick up a honda or toyota franchise. they want one in our area and my boss has been looking into getting one for about 6 months. they've been in talks. thats why i'm not scared. besides what happens happens.

lol insurance tends to not cover cars that get stolen w/ the keys left in them...
