What have you done to your P5 today?

The joys of DLP. The tv is SUPER light.

Building the TV stand was another chore though.

We've got the 42" DLP in the living room, 24" regular TV in the master, 27" regular in the office, and 19" LCD moniter in the guest room.

We gave away the 32" cause it's just too honking big to fit anywhere other than the livnig room. The stand in the bedroom, which was our entertainment stand when we first got married, was made for a 27, so it has the 24" and some speakers on it now

last weekend, installed new ds swaybar link. quiet suspension again : )
coolant flush and change.
oil/filter change.

Pulling the factory deck really isn't that tough... other than holding onto four tools at the same time... (and yes, coat hangers work fine if you get 'em bent right, but the tools designed for the job are better at giving the right leverage for disengaging the retaining clips).

You insert them into the six holes (middle on each side is ovular and accepts two tool ends), pull them away from the center of the stereo so the tools disengage the metal clips holding it in, and pull out of the dash.

The toughest part in the P5 is not scratching the bezel with any of the rough metal surfaces you're pulling out of it... you could remove the bezel first, but to actually get it out of the way you have to disconnect all the climate controls which is way more of a pain than using a little patience to prevent scratches imho.

I know Crutchfield has some videos that should show the basic concept of using those tools, though I doubt they have a double din example. (Single din is a cake walk... our double din is a mild jog around the block.)

If I had a stock unit in my car I'd make a vid for you... but seeing my aftermarket head come out of the dash would be useless for your current situation.

Back on topic:
I tightened a loose bolt on my passenger front end link. Man was that annoying the heck out of me... but back to beautiful now!
Of course I didn't get to drive it faster than 20 mph all the way home from work today - stupid drivers in the foggy rain FTL.

wow got alot of answers pretty fast lol

but i already took out the bezel the other day, to lazy to put it back in so the climate controls are just sitting in the dash, there not even plugged in lol

i got the glove box off too, ill try to do it when i get home from class today
sounds pretty easy, and from that video it looks like a piece of cake lol

Washed the damn dirty mongrel this weekend & busted out the tits (boobs) (took the bra off the car) for a quick photo sesh by the lake. Will have to resample pics due to the imax resolution of the wife's cam. Each pic was about 5mb .jpg, good down to microscopic level count the metal flake res or billboard size. Got the nib oem 47.00 alarm upgrade but didn't take the 20 minutes to install it - Friday morning's project.

upload em to Flickr, then you can keep em full size or choose auto resized images from thier site

Looks like a baja truck now! lol

Throw the cargo cover over it and you got it stealth

You can't. The cargo cover rests on the side plastic trim pieces which you have to remove to install the rear cage. Technically you could cut them up to fit around the bars but I really don't think there'd be much left. I'm still trying to find a way to put the cargo cover back there.

Looks good though. I didn't like the orange so mine is all powdercoated black except the actual strut tower bar.

oh so theres no way to have the cage, and still maintain the trunk trim pieces?

is there a significant difference handling wise?

I know I have seen some where the plastic trim was just notched out!

I'll bet it's loud back there...even louder than my exhaust cutout!
