I am looking for an mp3 ecu. I just recently ported my manifold and am wanting to make my car take even more of an advantage of the manifold. Please give me offers. Willing to pay 270 shipped, considering a msp ecu is 299.95.

what kind of car do you have? if you're not turbo'd, you have no use for the msp ecu. if you live near someone with an mp3, a good tech could DL the mp3's ecu and upload it onto yours.

i didn't think they could reflash stock pro5 ecu's to mp3 spec

If that is possible, i could reflash my stock ecu in the garage to mp3 specs from the one in my car and sell that off

they can...i had my mp3 present for someone else to do it...you just need to find someone that knows what they're doing...otherwise they'll tell you that it can't be done.

never removed the ECU before but i have a mp3 ecu in my wrecked mp3

will be glad to remove it if someone tell me how to

I recently installed a mp3 ecu in my p5. It's pretty easy. Basically, it's under the front passengers feet.

You remove the front passenger doors side sill, (just pull up), then the trim down on the right and left hand side of where the passengers feet would be. (It has those little clips that hold the trim in place, kinda like dry wall plugs)

Then you'll be looking at a big silver plate that has four nuts that need removed.(after pulling back the carpet of course) Once those are removed you can bend it back to expose where the ecm chip is. It helps if you have one in hand so you can recognize what your looking at. Anyhow, theres a bunch of wires going into it.

Theres a pdf with the actual procedure floating around, I'll look for it. One note though, the (plug/interface wire) part that connects to the mp3 ecu pins is bolted in place, so it's not just a matter of pulling hard on the wiring bundle..., it's bolted in making sure it's seated properly and wont jiggle loose while driving etc.
And while it makes perfect sense, I didnt see it at first. And it's not indicated on the pdf i was using.

Good luck! I like the MP3 upgrade on my p5!
Sorry if it's too vague. I'll look for the diagram.

Edit : clipped this from the pdf. I didnt have to screw with "part 4/brackets" shown in the diagram.

also thanks for the help. made it really easy after you told me the location of the ecu

Good job getting it out! Pretty hot commodity you have there. I've heard rumors of some folks finding 'em for cheap at something like carparts.com but it seems pretty rare.

Whoever purchases it, dont forget to switch to premium fuel!
