New to Community and lots of questions

Hi everyone. I've been reading a lot of threads and I just have some questions on mods for a mazda3 hatchback.

I'm really novice so any and all advice would be great.

does anyone else get a clicking noise when they step on the brakes before the car is started? it sounds like it's clicking sound is associated with the shift. Is that normal?

it is worth it to get tint? my husband has already had issues with police pulling him over for his tint on his nissan sentra spec V and actually had to get it removed. I think MN is %50 light in. That's a pretty light tint...

my understanding is that the click you hear is the lock that prevents you from shifting out of park without having your foot on the brake. this is, of course, assuming you have an automatic transmission.

I do have an automatic transmission. Thanks for the information!

I couldn't get a manual due to the fact that I live in the hilliest city in Minnesota and driving a manual up and down steep hills isn't fun. Especially when you have 3 feet of snow, or a ton of ice.

yuupp its a parking lock. even my p5 does it.

When I'm sitting in park I'll pump my brakes just to hear the clicking noice.

as far as tint goes yes its worth it... remember it also protects your interior as well as making your car look that much better. 50% is the same here in maine and i must admit it doesn't look as dark as i would like it to but it doesn't get me pulled over and my interior is protected from UV and it is much cooler in the summer
