so check this out, im on my way home from my girlfriends house.. probably like seven blocks away from my house and im passing a seven eleven and i see an 03 gt cop!! im not speeding or nothign not even stepping on the throttle and he turns and pulls me over like a block away.... reason: yellow fog lights and my exhaust being too loud!! what a jerk.. just my luck though!!
so i was talking to him and he said that my car is louder than his supercharged Gt!! all i have done to my exhaust is removed resonators... thank god i hadn,t installed my downpipe yet :( total bummer
 
IS300's fogs come standard in yellow. Looks like he was bored. Hope the ticket wasn't too much.
 
yeah i told him!! and i guess your right!! i wouldn't mind but im under watch by my judge!!! which means i shouldn't be getting any citations at all!! im seriously F****D
 
does your state let you go to a referee for decibel testing on your exhaust? Also, does your state give you a value on yoru ticket or make you wait to get it in the mail?
 
i think it does!! and no everytime i call they say i need to wait on the amount!! im pretty sure i could get the foglights dismissed!! but the exhaust.. how!? i mean its stock? should i take a picture from under the car?

yes...take pictures of your muffler vs. one at say the dealership.
 
Well I think the stock without the resonator is alittle bit too loud. But the fogs yellow, that is plain dumb for him to write it on the ticket.

Maybe you can trick them on the exhaust, the cop dont have the decibel gun with him when he cited you right? And you didnt admit to him that you had removed the resonators too right? If so he has no evidence for it, just slap all the resonators in and defend your case at court that your car is stock and its not loud with proof of pictures underneath haha.
 
all he said was to take pictures!! but i mean it looks exaclty the same from the outside!! only thing is resonatiors and no i didnt tell him what i did i told him everything was stock!! im going to do that...
 
in CA you can go to the state referee which are little auto shop stations at randon local colleges usually, and they will do a decibel test on the extaust, if it passes then they give you a printout with pics of your pipes and their signature and you can keep that in your glovebox to show cops in case you ever get pulled over again for it so you can whip that out and show them it passed!

You can take the same paper to the court and they will write off your ticket. But in TX not sure how they handle that. But our cars are loud enough stock even for a stock car, not sure if they take any of that into account.

I personally have gotten 3 muffler tickets out here in CA, none with the speed3 tho
 
i know cops everywhere are starting to get tight with noise ordinaces...they are writing up alotta tickets for stereos and exhausts here in austin and in college station
 
This is why I don't tint anything on my car. I just got poped the other day myself but she let me off with a written warning. Anyone know how long written warnings stay in the system?
 
excuse me why modify ur exhaust at all if it's already boomy and loud enough from the beginning? (sad2)

kinda does my head in ppl modify cars then collect tickets and wonder what did they do wrong?
on the other hand ticket for yellow fogs is utter nonsense, dispute.
 
tickets for crap like that is jsut a bored cop looking for something else....meanwhile you got thugs out there with spinners and all the ricers running neons


edit: and red necks running big trucks with exaust tones equal to a semi
 
Cop WAS most likely bored!! and its IMO my exhaust is not loud enought to get noticed!! i guess its just my luck well see what happens!!

Ill check around the city see if there are any shops!! thanks for the info!!
