Yea I would've gottena stick but some people needed to be able to drive my car in case of an emergency and they can't drive stick.
But hell, if he's paying them off right away then go and seriously consider trading up and out for a C30 T5 R-design. That would be sick!!! And you just can't beat the 5 star safety all around, my dad's '99 still runs with the best of the best in safety today and even is better than most cars out there now!!! (I'm pretty sure that's one of the reasons he hasn't dumped it off yet)

IDK, I'm fine with the tire pressure system. Its only gone off once on me and a simple look told me that they were 2PSI low on a cold morning.

He bought his new S40 today! It's awesome. He kept his '05 S40 which is what I'm driving because it has side airbags and after my accident I'm nervous about intersections... we aren't really sure what to do with my 3.

And before this goes any futher... I'm a dude not a chick... and yes as stated above I am dating a 27 year old male, meaning I am gay. (And I like to work on cars!)

Anyways now that I came out all over again, His new S40 isn't AWD just the T5 R-Design it's Ice White with every option, it's a fast little bugger 227 horsepower(not housepower!) only about 50 less then the SPEED3 I know it's no speed but neither of us need (or can use) that much speed in the SPEED. I might just keep the '05 and sell the 3 for an SUV, for our many MANY trips to and from our families all over the country. So now the question is what SUV?

Okay well I don't want to have to check EVERY tire when the light comes on. I mean I'm happy to have the system at all but if a Chevy has it... you know it just doesn't seem right. Oh and daytime running lights standerd.

Hey, I'd just sell the 3 and drive his '05 S40. Even the non-turboed 40's are pretty quick when I drove one like 2 years ago. It's hard to imagine 168HP can pull it but Volvo has some masses of torque underneath that hood.

Woohoo!! I like gay guys...not sexually, I'm a woman's man...but they make funny jokes and have good input. (and help a lot in those terrible relationship questions that all your straight friends are like idk, idk, idk but the gay guys are like do _____ and it makes everything perfect again) I've never actually known a gay guy who likes to work on cars though or has any interest in cars past the piont of their cuteness or colors and technically advanced options, which are like none these days except those anti-crash into s*** features. But I digress...

They made a T-5 R design in '05? Hrmph...especially one with 227 housepower? Hot diggity! That's like, like 6 horsepower. Considering houses don't move, that's a lot!! (lololololololololololololololololol) But for your SUV troubles I always say nothing cures that but a good monstrosity with a big V8. Or you can go check out an MDX with the sport package, them's noice!!! (or a CX-7 (humpleg))

This is what I'm saying, if Mazda took Ford's message center then we could have it tell us what the pressure is on each tire without having to get out and look. But I'm fond of the system I have since I've never had any other system built in. But I'm gonna have to disagree with you on the daytime running lights, I've always secretly hated those things.I mean if you want your headlights on during the day then just turn them on. Unless you take the Honda/Acura sytem where it's dimmed brights then that's ok.

Lol well I'm not the typical gay, his new S40 is an '09 he got it off the truck his '05 is well I'm not sure what it is, it has a navi and sunroof... hmm... it is VERY fun to drive I love it and him for basically giving it to me! I love the CX-7 but he wants something bigger he likes the Toyota Sequoia (for reasons unclear to me) I love the MDX or even the RDX. (I was also looking at the TSX instead of the C30) I think we can wait on the SUV his '05 S40 has less miles then my '07 Mazda3, so we can take that on our (dumb) roadtrips. I'm now on board with the whole Ford message center, but whats your beef with DRL?

Well if you want to go bigger than a cx-7 there's always the cx-9. They are very nicely equipped and you still get the sporty driving dynamic that the Sequoia could never hope to have. Unless of course he's looking for some off road ability in which case the cx-9 would not be a good choice.

But after owning a cx-7 I can tell you that it's plenty comfortable for 4 people and all their luggage for a roadtrip. Even with some over-packing.

Yeah it's his SUV so I'm going to let him pick it out, I think he wants to get a sail boat so the suv would be towing that, we go camping a lot but never so far as to need an suv to get there. I like the cx-9 but it's so big, and I'm still confused as to why we need a HUGE suv for two of us but he says its for when we go visit, we can put the whole family into our suv to go to dinner and what not, so I guess we are looking for a third row, in which case the cx-7 is out and the cx-9 is in. I think he really wants a GMC Yukon Denali... It's better then the Sequoia so I'm not complaining.

Screw GM, they filed bankruptcy. And where are you gonna put those 3rd row seats when you're not using them? Same with the Seqouia? Get an Expedition. Period. They are the best in the class, while maybe not the fastest or the biggest, they are definitely the nicest and most comfortable (and sportiest, it's like driving a lifted 3 hatch!). We've got an '05 Eddie Bauer with the electronic power fold third row and it is the most awesome s*** ever adapted to a set of car seats. I mean you just can't beat the lean, mean, grunting machine that is...5.4 Liters of V8 Detroit muscle.

It's not so much a beef with DRL's as much as I just don't like the idea. Most DRL's I see are just the headlights on. I mean if I wanted my headlights on during the day then I would just go and turn them on. But they're fine if you take the Honda/Acura system of separate, smaller bulbs or dimmed brights that are always on. They're not as bright, suck less power, don't annoy with the fact that if you want your headlights on then you can turn them on yourself, and that there's no point to having your full headlight system on during the daytime anyways.
That Ford message center man, it's the s***.

How about the Flex? I like the Expedition but their is no reason for us to have such a big suv, unless he gets a huge boat... which he might, but I like the way the Flex looks I don't know anyone who has one and can say if their good cars.

DRL's are a good thing to have in Florida esp. in here in the northwest were it rains every afternoon almost. I've gotten pulled over 3 times for not having my lights on while it's raining... and it was sunny! I'm kind of over it, but I like the idea of Hondas system, I always wondered why they looked odd, I love the LED's in the new Audi A4's headlamps they do nothing to see but can be seen and Florida counts them as headlamps!

lol @ the boat part. I think they should be good station wagons...I mean I don't know anybody who owns one either but I really like the comfyness of the interior and the room inside but the outside is ok.

Hahaha!! Damn Florida laws...juts like California but not as stupid. Audi has like the best DRL's I have ever seen. They're probably the only DRL's that I would be proud to say were mine. I don't know why, but they are just so damn sexy.

since i am new, i am not sure if this was discussed before, but some of the options i feel could have been at least offered as a "kit"

- cold weather package -- heated mirrors and seats with optional lining of the trunk w/ a plastic material like the in the matrix
- better sound system package -- vw offers bose system...why wouldn't mazda?

things that i wish would come stock:

- DEAD PEDAL!!!!!!!!!
-all in one key/FOB key
-can lock doors(even if they are open) as long as the driver side is closed
-open all windows on car w/ key if you open it in the keyslot and hold(like my mk4 jetta had)
-small hidden shelf above the central climate vents
-illuminated window controls
-trunk hatch release/popper
-NO TPS!!!! -- just another PIA when you wanna get different wheels
-fogs independent of lights, so we wouldn't have to do it ourselves
-locks on the floor rugs so they won't slide around(hooks like on on the driver side)

Mazda does have a Bose stereo as an option.
And I agree with you on the TPMS being a pain when you want new tires. Or snow tires. But because of the whole Ford Explorer / Firestone fiasco, TPMS is now required by law, so they aren't going anywhere.

Why does VW have anything to do with Mazda? lol I was totaly confused plus as stated Mazda does have a Bose system but only on the higher up trim levels.
Dead Pedal is a huge one for me too, I still need to order one.
I can lock all my doors, at anytime. My car just doesn't beep if I hit the lock button twice and a door is open.
The windows should have been desinged to open by holding the unlock botton on the key fob like Hondas!
I don't have a problem with the storage space, but I guess if the HUGE glove box and center storage isnt enough that would be a good place.
My driver window botton lights up red. (I'm pretty sure) So it's easy to find which ever window you need. (Unless I'm mistaken.)
My driver and passenger floor mats have "locks" and then the two in the back have velcro to keep them in place. (Personaly I think the carpet needs work it feels cheap, along with the head liner and the sun visors.)

gentlemen, i apologize if i have misspoke or am misinformed about the mazda 3. i have had it for about a month, so i am still learning about it all.

i had no idea bout the bose system on the mazda on other models(the reason i spoke about the vw is that it was the last car i owned and i only knew about the options they offered for their models)

but i agree about the carpet feeling cheap. regardless, after 6 years w/ my vw..i'm still learning all about the mazda so i apologize if i have angered anyone w/ my ignorance.

but it's all good :)

no worries, i didnt' take it as such. but anyone who read it and thought "n00b"...well they were right :D

Haha, it's all good. We all friends here bro...unless somebody comes on wit dat typin style were u cant distinguish wut theyr sayin cuz its just too shorthand typin n they raced some dood but lost cuz they sux at shiftinz. lolerz

Although, I haven't thought of making a dead pedal standard yet but like those aluminum dead pedals would be sick even if they were $40 OEM from Mazda at the accessories spot place in the service area. (you all know what I'm talking about)

"cold weather" package is an unadvertised standard feature in canada... it has different ECU tuning for cold weather, larger heater core, bigger battery, and heated mirrors

Damn you and your available heated mirrors!!!! *shakes fist* Why does Mazda not listen??? (rant)

And before this goes any futher... I'm a dude not a chick... and yes as stated above I am dating a 27 year old male, meaning I am gay.

I would still teach you to drive a stick if you lived closer thean Destin. (yes)
